Dont know how publix sandwiches are but anytime I go to Connecticut, I HAVE to stop at Big Y and get a turkey and cheese sub. Add some lettuce and onions. Sooooooo good.

Best grocery store sandwich.

When your favorite sub at Publix is on sale for $4.99 >>>

I don't think the naysayers get it. You have a choice of meats and cheeses from their ENTIRE deli, not just predetermined sandwiches. You want smoked gouda and jerk turkey? You can have that.

Whatever combo you can dream up, Publix can create. It's lovely. @ gas station food being better than freshly sliced meats and cheeses.

Agreed but title should read "boars head is goat cold cuts" because that's really why those sandwiches are good

But yea the publix in Tampa are phenomenal, I'd say just about a Floridian wegmans

this,

wegmans is way ahead of publix nothing beats wegmans hot food section 8)

but publix is on the come up. Everything in the store going to be branded publix or they new line called GreeWise something that wegman is already doing.

Its a shame that the store brand is now starting to outsell the regular brands but its a good thing for grocery shoppers. :smokin

Store name sounds too much like "pubic" or "lice" and I don't want any pubics or lice in my submarine sandwich. :smh:

No, dude. That is 100% UNACCEPTABLE at a supermarket.

I have never heard of rat infestations at MULTIPLE supermarkets within the same chain nor have I ever seen a failed inspection sign at any supermarket I've shopped at. The fact that they had a rat problem that was discovered by inspectors tells me the rats were there for a long time prior, and even worse is that employees either overlooked it or failed to discover it themselves. It speaks volumes to how Publix is managed. I would never buy produce again at this supermarket.

This would NEVER happen at a chain like Whole Foods or Trader Joe's where employees earn a dignified wage and are provided with a positive work environment. There must be no sense of pride working at Publix if rats are setting up shop unnoticed. When employees don't care and are just showing up for a paycheck this is what happens. No wonder the subs are discounted!

Meh, not all Publix are the same. To generalize is silly. Their subs are discounted because they are running a sale on their subs, like any other business.
