Split - M Night's new movie starring James McAvoy (2017)

Saw this a couple of weeks ago and I ******* loved it, it's not a perfect movie of course but I loved it, I thought it was a great movie by itself, but with that ending, that elevated it to a much higher praise from me. Shyamalan is back to what he does best, make a great story with a small budget.

I work in retail and Bruce came into the store I work at early in the morning (great dude btw) and I was chopping it up with him about the movie and he pretty much confirmed what we all knew, that Unbreakable 2 is happening.

He said unbreakable 2 which is awesome, it's not gonna be a 3rd movie that is its own movie, it's gonna be a direct sequel which is awesome.
He lit up when I told him I had seen the movie and that I was that guy, the guy who starts the clap and the end of the movie cause when I heard the unbreakable theme, I turned to my girl and said "oh ****..." and once the screen went to black I clapped lol.

I had a feeling once I realized the Beast was real and not just a personality

Unbreakable is in my top 10 fav movies

Does he have a good twist in him for a sequel though? He shouldn't set himself up for another fall.

At the end of Unbreakable 2, he wakes up as his plane lands in LA. Gets picked up and driven to his wife's job at Nakatomi Plaza


Or he wakes up as he's about to step into a boxing ring for a fight that he's about to throw.
 
Can I watch Split and enjoy it without seeing any of M Night's past films?
 
They're gonna have to give M Night a chance at a sequel/ expanded universe. It's made 150 million dollars on a 9 million dollar budget that was self financed mainly by M Night. I look forward to the Philadelphia cinematic universe

thought it was interesting how the the main girl kept losing shirts until he ripped her last layer (of vulnerability?) and exposed her secret literally

the doctor was the biggest miss the whole movie imo

talking about all the amazing things they can do but for no reason she doubts the beasts existence

and she already knew she had patients that committed crimes and got locked up but didnt wanna think this guy could do it too? nah

and am i supposed to believe that this was the first time he abducted and killed girls?

and i thought he was going to eat them entirely, not just take a bite

the radio part was weak too, like damn dude does it even sound like betty to be all scared like that? like that was legit fear and his dumbass "how did u get this radio?"

the main girl was hella annoying in the beginning tho not tryna fight, being all sour

and why would he even keep the main girl alive when his objective was the two other girls he stalked and knew he wanted?

gonna watch it again for more clarity on a rewatch hopefully

Lol. I haven't seen the movie and only saw one trailer for it. Clicked this thread to see more clips/the general reception to decide whether to see it and not even 10 posts down from OP this post ruined the movie for me.

Of course anyone who has seen M Night movies would know what you're referencing.
 
Damn, I'm glad I've been taking a bit of a break from deep film dives and following marketing and reviews and managed to go in unsullied.
 
This movie was mad boring. And that "twist" was anything but. It's only getting praise because it's better than his past offerings.

I should have seen Lego Batman.
 
Watched last night and it was alright. It seems like a lot of people are saying it's awesome just because of that final scene. Up until then it was decent. James McAvoy acted his *** off doe. And the black chick was [emoji]128531[/emoji]

Just cuz somebody doesnt like a movie doesnt make them "haters" :lol: ....movie was cool, i wasnt really suprised or excited about the twist at the end tho

Had to look up how old the black chick was just to be safe, def would hit it ...i'd smash all them chicks
 
Naw thats an opinion, not everybody liked it deal with it....but you in here fighting the good fight for this movie so u got it

Well lemme tell you why it was so trash...idk how to do spoilers so if you didn't see the movie stop reading now





First, the beginning made it seem like she either knew the dude or had been abducted by him before. Like how was she so knowledgeable about how to interact with him or how he would react to certain stuff, like when she told the chick to piss on herself. What made him spray the other two girls with Chloroform or whatever it was and not the main chick until she tried to run?

He left them alone multiple times for long stretches for them to esacape when he would email and go see the old lady...Why didn't they escape any of them times?

***** was taking stab wounds and bullets like nothing in the end..and survived. I didn't see unbreakable so I guess I gotta watch it to understand that and the Bruce Willis cameo, I was compeletely lost..

It's more but that's all I can think of right now
