OK, so here's the deal. I needed some razors (sensor excel.) Went to Wal-Mart where they were $27 for a pack of 10. Found the same razors online (Walmart.com) for $17. Took them up to the customer service desk to get a price adjustment, and knowing how Wal-Mart only price matches with Walmart.com, I thought I was good. Key word, "thought." The person at the counter saw my phone where I pulled up the webpage then she checked her system. Same razors appeared, but $17 razors on Wal-Mart.com were being sold by a 3rd part. She said they can't honor the price adjustment due to that. So why is it that Wal-Mart can have 3rd party sellers on their web-site, sell products for much cheaper, but Wal-Mart in store won't accept those same prices? I've made the same exchange at Target with no problem....Wal-Mart for whatever the reason is the hardest place to get those price matches. *shrugs*

This reminds me: anyone remember Best Buy's secret internal website that showed higher prices on items compared to the actual BestBuy.com? Customers would walk in thinking they could get a great price online matched in the store, but employees would pull up the item on the secret internal site (which looked exactly like BB.com) which only showed the higher prices. That was pretty bad.

man, that's shady as hell.

I took some vans to the Counter at nordstrom rack ... they rang up for .01 cent. The lady says She has to sell them for 1 cent even though they were marked for $30

Had some a-holes back in the day who would wait until sale time, find items that weren't sale items but would put them on a sale rack. They'd even switch the hanger to a plastic one. They'd say they found it on the sale rack which has a sign advertising whatever percentage off. We had to sell it to them for the discount price.

Went to CVS and they tried that ****. Said they don't price match their own website and although I have the money to make up a $2 difference I didn't but the item on principle.

It's very obvious they try to lure you in with the online price i.e. that Best Buy thing posted.

That's what the policy says. Took 3 seconds to find the answer. I know this because I've never price matched a thing in my life until Friday. Things like that kind of embarrass me so I wanted to make sure I was good beforehand. Got $5 off a wireless keyboard.

Now I wonder about all the merchandise I've bought at Walmart where I could've saved a few bucks by checking the website first to see if it was listed for cheaper (excluding of course the third party mom and pop businesses)

Well the third party seller is why. Like Amazon will price match target, Walmart, GameStop etc, but they don't price match third party sellers on their own page. Like they can have their own Xbox for $299 and a third party seller Joes electronics for $269 but Amazon isn't going to lower the price

Also it depends who is their at the register. I've had people who couldn't give 2 ***** and other people who really care slot. I was at target and a shirt was cheaper online than in store. The lady didn't even ask to see the webpage, she just asked me how much it was

What? How?

*I know what the policy says, bruh....I was just confused as to why they don't price-match even with a 3rd party on their OWN website. That part doesn't make sense to me.

A lot of these companies don't price match 3rd party sellers because it could literally be anyone.

They only match the "big brands" because they know their legit.

For example :

A few years back one of those "3rd party sellers" had a Video game system marked down to like $100 buck (when it was still selling for $350-$400) and had people going ham trying to price match inside stores.

Turns out someone intentionally listed it at that price with 0 intent to sell it just so they could buy systems at that price.

Of course depending on the store you went to you got it off, and like with most errors most spots didn't care, after the first night though it was a wrap  :smh:

But why allow 3rd party selling on their own website if this is the case? Amazon, I get....but Wal-Mart?

I remember they tried to pull that with me but I showed them me logging into the BB site from my phone and they ended up price matching what I bought. This was a while ago though and I remember being confused as to why that was. Very shady of BB :smh:

3rd party sellers don't get priced matched regardless of where you go, that's just the way it is. Hell, Walmart don't even price match other Walmarts and they are funny about PMing Walmart.com as well.

Never had an issue w/ BB and when I worked their for all but a month and some change, I never used the secret site.

Walmart, best buy, Newegg they all do the same as Amazon allowing 3rd party sellers to sign up. Regardless, their policy lists who they'll price match.

Didn't know walmart.com had third party sellers. Is it the same thing when I order a product from macys or karmaloop and it ships directly from the brand of the product's warehouse?
