How many of y'all seen this. What are your thoughts
This is Mekhi Phifers first movie

Pretty much all of the cast was from one of the 5 boroughs. Gave it that authentic feel. :pimp:

The pace of the movie was ill.

Better than Do the Right Thing and 25th Hour? Hmm

spike lee's best work was malcolm x

but yes clockers is a very good movie

read the book clockers was based on

Such a slept on film. Rodney in the Lincoln dipping with Phillip Bailey "Children of Ghetto" in the background :pimp: :pimp:

Haven't seen this in a minute, but what always bothered me about this was the pepto bismol

but Do The Right Thing, Mo Better, Jungle Fever and Malcolm X were better

Got put on to this movie from an African American film studies class I took in college. i haven't seen it in a long time but I remember breaking down what certain colors meant in certain scenes, specifically the color red.

What the pepto stuff meant. What the trains meant. Spikes trademarks like cameos, his 40oz thing, the halo lighting techniques, etc.

On the very surface, this is just another hood movie, but it's soooo much deeper of you really study it.

100% Facts B

I watched the movie mad times and I was mind blown when I thought deeper into the surface. Care to drop some jewels from your analysis?

One thing I noticed was the foreshadowing of the shooting of Errol. At the beginning of the game, lil man was playing his video game and in the game, it was a kid on a bike shooting a dope fiend, similar to what happened to Errol.

I'm still confused about the importance of the chocolate milk and stomach ulcer thing. Maybe spike is trying to say that this dude (Mekkhi) is still a child at heart? Hence the chocolate milk? Idk

Not too sure about the trains.

That opening scene was something else though. Wild graphic.

Wasn't really feeling "Clockers".

Spike's best work is either "Do The Right Thing" or "Jungle Fever". I can't choose between the two.

The GOAT director
