I've never used it but lately people have been asking to pay me using venmo via meet up. Excuse my ignorance but

-how safe is venmo i.e. if someone pays for an item can they turn around and say they didn't receive it and file a claim like paypal?

- would i need proof to verify that i sold the item?

- once they pay how long before i can withdraw the funds?

where venmo is legit, alot of the "shady" business peeps use it as well, since its kinda lowkey,


again, use venmo only with ppl you know, as stated above.
 
My friends and I use Venmo all the time, it's a little faster than PayPal. Like others have said in this thread, I would only use it with people you know well
 
Venmo is awesome.

I wish you could pay people using your CC on Venmo and not get charged a fee though.

Venmo is definitely convenient with Friends. Great video posted didn't know about that, now I know when selling something always cash.
 
Venmo is great for friend-to-friend use. I have Quick Pay set up also but that's just Chase.
 
Friend put me on. It's cool but I barely use it. Some ppl use it a lot but like others have mentioned don't do sales and stuff with it. Lots of ppl being scammed. Friend of mine tried some "funny" stuff on it and got his account shut down. I use PayPal and already don't trust them so I don't feel comfortable with a spin off of them :lol:

Yeah i agree with everyone, Square cash is better, you get the money instantly

Venmo is cool, but gotta wait till the next buisness day
 
Never even heard of Square Cash tbh. Too many of my friends and I use Venmo, so no point in switching.

How do these companies make their money? Straight advertising?

Square cash takes like 10 cent if you want the money instantly, but if can wait till next buisness day then you wont be charge.
 
The APP is for splitting bills ( bars, restaurants, Uber, domestic crap and etc). If you are receiver though, withdrawal fees apply. I only do the sending and not receiving.

You can easily cancel it if you sent money to the wrong person (variation of the same names can get you), you just gotta explain your valid situation.

Word? How is that even possible ?

I can understand that if Square is using the same bank as you, bank to bank transfer is instant. But 2 different institutions and same day transfer, never heard of that.

Yeah, I never heard of square cash either. My friends and fam use venmo.
