These things are so cool. My dad used to collect them, so I grew up with all types of crystals all throughout my home. I'm talking giant amethyst geodes like this:

And they've always fascinated me. Kinda like how having an aquarium is... You never know how much you're missing until you actually see a cool salt water aquarium. It's like a magnificent work of art by nature. Same feeling with these crystals. I'm not quite sure how to explain it, but they definitely add a lot to a home.

Since, my dad has passed away, but I'm always thankful for the gifts and gems (literally) that he left down for us, so I never really feel like he's gone. So I figured, why not share the gems my pops shared with me and my siblings when I was growing up.

My bad for getting all personal, but I figured I'd share that. Hopefully somebody will find this as cool as I did and start a dope collection :pimp:

Here's to cool *** dads and crystals.

I found this website one day while I was looking for crystals online. Some really cool crystal skull artwork:

In 4th grade I learned about mineralogy.

Found out that geodes were the rocks that had crystals, quartz, and other minerals in them.

That weekend my friend and I went in his backyard and started hitting rocks with hammers.

Found some quartz, optical calcite, and black calcite. I still have them.

not to derail, i love the study of mineralogy and i appreciate your enthusiasm and reminiscing of your pops because it brings back memories. I really respect that. but

please don't tell me you believe they have magical powers? you're the say guy who said volcanoes were ancient trees cut down by aliens right?

Lol, I didn't say anything about that in the initial post breh.

Very cool stuff, I bet they look great displayed in a lit glass case.

I've seen a few of these things at the thrift stores I frequent. The last time I did see them, some transient was stuffing them into his backpack and walking out the store...he could barely carry the bag and walk his bicycle at the same time

Amethyst my birthstone :smokin I have a huge piece of quartz on top of my dresser and I carry a quartz sphere everywhere I go. Tigereye and obsidian bracelets on for 3/4 of the day too.
