Westworld you can't judge, because obviously the story is just starting and they have plenty of time to screw up
True detective can be looked at like miniseries or like taboo (which is only going for 1 season I think)
Or like I mentioned, Fargo.. each season is separate.. or like American horror story

Actually I take it back. If you're picking a show that separates itself by season you really have to judge it as an entire entity. First season of TD was so good i dont think it matters with that one though.

Never got the people that get mad over spoilers. To each they own I guess but I don't understand. I actually enjoy knowing what's going to happen before hand. Knowing what's going to happen doesn't kill any satisfaction for me.

This has been very good so far. Just on episode 4.
I was let down by The Young Pope. Only made it to episode 5.

its as simple as not wanting to know whats going on before it happens..some ppl might want to be...surprised
like you said to each their own.
I understand even some folks who avoid online discussions mid season even...damn near every twist of Westworld was figured out before the reveal happened

You still have to take the whole show in totality. Just like the Simpsons. Boondocks S4 was a mess but I can't just pretend like it never existed.

I haven't seen either season but they're still under name True Detective so it all counts. It's like me saying the Fresh Prince episodes with light skinned Aunt Viv don't count. If the 1st season of TD was a 10 and the 2nd season a 5 you get a cumulative score of 7. Just like there's better seasons of GOT, Wire, etc.

But there is a completely different weight attached to the crap of some shows vs others
The ending of lost completely changes how I view the whole show, the show doesn't exist without going in a linear manner
I have zero need for season 2 of true detective.. no matter how much crap they do after season 1, they would have told a great story in that season to completion and I can recommend that until the end of time
Like black mirror, it has its weaker singular episodes that can be skipped without missing a thing

I was giving an example cause the people who have seen it say the first season was great and 2nd was meh.
If it's easier for you to understand I'll use the Boondocks: S1 & S2-10, S3-7, S4-4. Cumulative score for the series 8. None of theindividual seasons were concurrent.
