NY Come Pick Up Another L

10-4

And how much is parking normally?

Let's say I get a $2.5k, 1 br spot in Harlem. How much would parking cost?

And when you go out on the scene and you want to park somewhere?

Depends where in Harlem bro, some streets you can actually just park outside, just depends...if not there are parking garages that offer monthly parking...id say 200$ can get you a parking spot for a month, then if it's a newer building it might even come with parking...it all depends, having a car is an added expense, but the pros supercede the cons ALWAYS....having your own car as an option anywhere outside of the Manhattan(midtown-downtown) to DT Brooklyn bubble will always be a plus....my sisternlaws fiancée used to live in prospect park while she lived by Yankee stadium, when they first started dating and they would go out, dude would drop her off and embark on a 2 hour commute back home, it was so bad once dude fell asleep and rode the train all the way to the last stop and right back up the BX and when he woke up it was 4 hours later  yeah his perspective of "oh I live in the city, I'll never need a car" changed REAL QUICK.

^^ Son should've got robbed

Explain how this is NY's L?

Aint this Supreme's W? They been profiting off their brand. If ppl got the money, let them waste it.

Metro cards are just a part of the culture here.

So its cool if you have a chick and no car in ny?
It's not needed.

Unless you constantly driving to Connecticut, Jersey, and Westchester.

I once rocked from baychester in the BX all the way down to Manhattan Beach. 30 min drive or 2+ hour train ride, no competition.

You should see the line for the store right by my office in SoHo. Legit block and a half, around the corner. Mid-day this pas Friday and today as well :smh: .

Line for the cards ain't bad right now

Yeah for those that live in the actual city of downtown Manhattan/downtown Brooklyn....those that live in the BX, further out parts of queens, Brooklyn need to stop this nonsense of saying they live in the "city" ya don't....yes ya have access to a train or bus, but a car>>>>>>

I don't think many of these clowns that melt at the sign of a supreme logo can claim they "live in the city"

Your bugging, I live in the BX and the 2/5/6 lines are 5 minute walks from me.

You really don't need a car in NYC if you leave near the subway honestly. Only people that need one are ones far from the train, edge of outer boroughs. Uber/Lyft are far more convenient when you factor in having to park, gas, tolls, etc. Not to mention, unless you park in a garage your car will get destroyed on NY streets. Most of the time it takes longer to drive in Manhattan than taking the subway. Parking garage is about $320 monthly where I'm at.

There's nothing poor about taking the subway either. I bought an exotic car just for dates and going out and had it totaled being parked outside for two hrs just from from crazy drivers. It's been Uber/subway since then.

If I'm going to do dinner/movie in the city on the weekend (aka not a night out drinking) I don't mind driving in at all coming from Brooklyn. I always find parking on the street and unless there is an issue with any closures in the tunnel or bridge, it's usually a breeze to get home.

Train into the city on a night out drinking is the move. Otw home, a few of us will pony up the $ and take a cab back into Bk.

Idk if it's for the lines only. Regardless dudes are lining up on a Tuesday afternoon as if they have nothing else better to do :smh: granted schools are closed this week but still...

if I wasn't dead set on a extra brolic cuban I'd of been got me a ZL1 or something of similar pedigree...

Shhhiiii a Cuban over a ZL1. New York State of Mind.

I never said you didn't have access to those lines....the 2 reaches practically Yonkers and all the way down to BK...doesn't mean is a faster commute than driving would be, let alone more convenient and even safer.

Exactly, and how often do cats really need to go to downtown manhattan anyways?

Resellers do this full time, 3am on a wednesday wouldn't be a problem for many

I'm not advocating for an exotic car, a good hooptie will do just fine....depending on the time of day a car will get you into the city much faster than a train would...with moderate traffic I can drive from Yonkers to Dumbo in 45 minutes....this is including getting on the FDR which is a nightmare at any time really....if I was to take the train...that would actually be a 2 hour commute.

As someone who is 25 and has his own apartment and isn't married me taking advantage of the subway is essential considering it takes me 15 minutes to get to my job. If I'm going out and I'm wasted Uber is where it's at. First time driver insurance would be like $800 a month + gas and maintenance. Worrying about getting a whip for the yambz is hustling backwards and some cornball way of thinking.

Being handsome and having your own spot and bread in your pocket >

I used to live a block away from the train, but I'm with Steezy, a whip is much better to have. From errands, work, seeing fam even going into midtown. Your time and peace of mind is worth it. Dudes are saying nah because it's what they're used to.

It's like NYC people don't like to travel and see the country. Rent a car I guess. Who of y'all don't have a license?

All those points are ones that don't resonate with everybody. If I have to get somewhere and don't want to take the train or bus Uber will do it for me. Everyone I know who has a whip complains about the cost of insurance and maintenance and wishes they didn't commit to it. These guys drive nice cars so maybe if it's a cheaper vehicle it won't be such a headache and annoyance financially.

Yonkers is not considered NYC. Funny thing is that people I know pay 300+ a month insurance on a Nissan in NYC. It's not unheard of to pay 5-800 a month for an average BMW either. If you figure maintenance, parking, gas, lease, tickets, depreciation and repairs as well, you can easily exceed 1000+ a month. You can Uber anytime the subway isn't a good option and probably save hundreds while being driven around. Times have seriously changed in major cities, it's starting not to make sense to own a car with all these on demand services.

That said, I love cars and will probably buy something else if I move.

I've been driving 15+ years and I still **** about insurance and keep my gas tank at no more than a quarter filled

But on a HOT summer day or a COLD winter night, which we get plenty of those in NY...I drive past bus stops with a big smile feeling sorry for those dudes freezing their **** off waiting on a bus, or the ones melting away underground.

Exactly. This dude is advocating for owning a vehicle in NYC (he doesn't even live there) for his own personal reasons. I haven't been snuffed on a NYC train or fear for my life so that car he drives into the city is also a security blanket for him.

Yonkers is as much NYC as outskirts of BK, white plains road in the Bronx if we are talking commuting distances....which is what I've been saying all along.

Yes insurance is cheaper in westchester, but not by much, to own a car doesn't mean you need to budget for a lease or finance charge monthly, you can very well own a used car and pay for it flat out, other than gas and insurance if you have a good car, you are GOOD....all these other fees you are talmbout are optional, if you want a nice car, like many other things in life, you will have to pay for it, who's arguing that...lol

 damn dudes scared to ride the train now? What's going on here?

See now you are going off the ledge fam....I was raised in the Bronx (east Tremont) I can very well hop on a train or bus and not fear a thing because I grew up in this city....I wouldn't put any of my family members through that tho..specially women...but that's besides the point...you can advocate for not having a car if your world is as tiny as a 25 mile radius....which is all fine.
