@Methodical Management   will the FCFS run of the hats also go to charity?
Yes.  Details are in the topic post.
@Methodical Management niketalk live 2017?

It's still possible, but it couldn't happen until Fall at the absolute earliest.

The initial plan was to host it once again at Wikia HQ in SF, but changes to personnel and the direction of the company disrupted those plans.

Originally, some of these hats, and the NKETLK shirts, would have been made available for sale at the event itself, and as part of an expanded charity auction.

Right now, all of the focus needs to be on the migration and making sure the community itself remains healthy following relaunch.  Once that's been assured, we can turn our attention to other matters, including the next NikeTalk Live.

Thankfully, the two people most responsible for planning and facilitating NikeTalk Live 2017 have expressed interest in assisting us with our next live event.  The venue will change, but concept will not be lost as part of the platform transition.

dudes dropping 200 + and crap Jordans

dropping 400 plus for yeezys

but cant drop 200 on hat with proceeds going to charity

um ok

in for NT summit 2017

wikia offices were dope, shout out to them for hosting us

no more mediteranean food ...please
There was a logistical issue with the food at the last event.  The vendor we approved, for whatever reason, didn't work out, so a last minute change was required.  I'm disappointed that the selection wasn't to everyone's liking.

We are and will remain grateful to Wikia for hosting that event.  A similar venue would've been prohibitively expensive.  The supplementary budget, however, was much smaller than you might expect.  While we're grateful to have any co-investment at all, catering options were limited and the planning team did the absolute best they could given all of the constraints.  (If you knew how much they had to spend, you'd consider the quality of the event to be no minor miracle.)

It's difficult to provide something for everyone, and one of the goals is to ensure that the food chosen is suitable for everyone, including those with various dietary or allergic concerns.  (Dairy, nuts, gluten, etc.)  We aim to please, but the Hippocratic dictum "first, do no harm" must serve as our first priority, too.

The team listened closely to guest feedback, as NT Live 2016 was something we hoped to build on.

We'll use a different food vendor for future events.

So lemme get this straight... Sorry been busy.

NT snapbacks are $200 on the bay w/proceeds going to charity?

NT is going live?

NT is moving?

Did I get this right?

What's up Supa, been a minute. Forever appreciative of the CTK Lebron VIIs.

I'm a fitted guy.

Not about that snapback life because my head is too big.

Good look to those looking to scope a hat.

I'm definitely interested in copping some more NT shirts though.

The one I have now are extremely faded.

Meth, I placed a much higher max bid so I don't miss out. 5 cents was all it took to be the highest bidder at the time

It could've been worse.  It could've taken five bids to reach 5 cents.

It turned out that the first bid was actually for one cent.  I'd thought it would've had to be five cents in order for 6 cents to become the new high bid, but the system doesn't move in one cent increments.

Thanks to you, and Little Penny, for your bids.  They seem to be doing a bit better now.

Does InStyleShoes declare the winning bid as the dutiable value for international shipments? There might be a problem with that over here once it goes over $200

I need a new shirt, and I missed out on the fitted... so let's see. :nthat:

Quick update:  for some strange reason, there was an technical issue preventing new charity listings from going up today.  ISS is working on it with eBay and we're now planning to create two new listings tomorrow.

We'll still stagger the closing times so the auctions will all close one day apart.

Links to the new auctions will be added as soon as they're available.

Thanks so much to everyone who's participated in the bidding process thus for for our initial listing.  We appreciate your generosity.
This is EXCELLENT news and I pray I get a hat. I actually wear mine and prefer a snapback.

Yo @Methodical Management, I got a suggestion. PLEASE DON'T CHEW ME! First and foremost, I'm grateful for this and have no complaints. I would like to point out that there are definitely way more members than ever now. FOR ARGUMENTS SAKE, let's suppose all 32 hats go for $200. That's $6400 for charity. That's not bad, not bad at all. What if you guys were to actually take pre-orders, right. Sell the hats for $60 and whoever wants one has to pay IN FULL by a certain deadline. I can't imagine they cost more than $30 to make but let's just say $30. $30 to make, $30 goes to charity, right. Here's the kicker, you make 300 of them. By that math, the $30 to charity multiplied by 300 hats = $9,000. More members get a hat, more money is donated to charity, and there's zero risk of failure because the members fronted their money when they did the preorders. It's a win, win, win situation.

Even if this never happens, it is what it is. I'm just excited at the opportunity to get one. Thank you Meth. You're appreciated more than you know.
I always love seeing people wearing and enjoying their hats.  I'm glad you appreciate the effort and I hope you're able to get one this time, too.

Preorders can sound ideal if everything goes right, but it's my responsibility to plan on the basis of what could go wrong.  As indicated in the post @Nawzlew  quoted, there's an awful lot that can go wrong with pre-orders - and this whole ordeal is actually proof of that.

I actually placed the order for these caps, with the help of our friends at Cap City, back in the summer of 2015.

When they finally received them, they all looked like this:

The error was completely inexplicable.  There was no blue anywhere in the design.  Obviously we had to send them back and start over again.  Given the clear mistake, that should've been pretty clear cut.  It was not.  That process wasn't completed until this past March.   Cap City had to make a big effort for us on this, even though they weren't the ones responsible for selling them.

The delays didn't stop there.  When the correct hats finally came in, we then had the hats shipped to Wikia, where we'd planned to offer some at NikeTalk Live 2017 and hold a contest/giveaway.  Changes at Wikia effectively cancelled all of those plans, and the hats then had to be shipped to Instyleshoes.  Unfortunately, the wrong hats were sent to ISS by mistake.  We had to wait another week from there for the correct hats to arrive.

Imagine if you pre-ordered this product in July 2015 and they just shipped out to you now.

We need to be the ones to accept the risk on this, not you.  We don't want to let down those who trust us due to circumstances beyond our control.

@ the blue part at the top! So silly and out of place lol

And thank you for the reply. When you put it like that, it makes all the sense in the world and I understand the difficulty of a pre-order...

I love the charities that were chosen. I'm gonna keep my mouth shut about those wanting them given to other places.

And meth if we move platforms. Can I donate to get my old SN back [emoji]128591[/emoji][emoji]128591[/emoji][emoji]128591[/emoji]

If both Meth and I were present at the last summit my street senses would've easily been able to distinguish who he was from everyone else in the crowd by reading body language and the way "people in the know" approach and talk to him.

You got away last time fella, I'm going to figure out who's the man behind the legend by the end of 2017
