NikeTalk New Era Snapbacks will be available at Instyleshoes.com on 4/22 at noon EDT, 9 AM PDT. *RE

Thanks for all the work you are doing for charity Meth. Hopefully I can cop the SnapBack and T shirt

Left for a few days and come back to this.

Same dudes complaining about a hat and shirt for charity costing $200 cop multiple releases in a month. :smh:
Helping others is helping yourself. The sooner some of you realize that, the better your life will be.

Methodical Management Methodical Management I see the charities we are playing for this time around. Great choices.
Are all the proceeds from the auctions going into a "pool" and evenly distributed between these organizations?
And if so, is there a way to just donate to that pool without bidding on the shirt and hat?

Still gonna bid, but if my bid doesn't win then I really didn't donate to the effort. I want the hat and shirt but it's more about the donation for me.

Auction #5 is now live:  http://www.ebay.com/itm/-/322440741995?

As a recap:

Auction #1 is at $210.50 and closes Monday:  http://www.ebay.com/itm/NIKETALK-SN...ty-Auction-100-proceeds-to-IRC-/322437146890?

Auction #2 is at $127.50 and closes Wednesday:  http://www.ebay.com/itm/NIKETALK-SN...-Auction-100-proceeds-to-IRC-2-/322439069704?

Auction #3 is also at $127.50 and closes next Saturday, 3/11:  http://www.ebay.com/itm/NIKETALK-SN...-Auction-100-proceeds-to-IRC-3-/322439071120?

Auction #4 is now up to $152.50 and will close Thursday, 3/9:  http://www.ebay.com/itm/NIKETALK-SN...-Auction-100-proceeds-to-IRC-4-/322440036541?

I'll post reminders as the closing times draw near.

So far, we're looking at over $600 with just four hats.  For comparison, the original NT fitted hats yielded a total of $2,358.

So meth was there? People have seen him?
he did not show up, disappointment ensued
The staff was very well represented.  Nelson C flew in from Canada and made his first public appearance.  Retrokid flew in from Oregon just for the event.  Also, for some reason, Bastitch showed up.

Given all the prominent NikeTalk members in attendance, nobody had any reason to be disappointed.  The relaunch will obviously impact not only our timing, but our budget, so it may be tough to get one in for 2017, but we'll do our best and, if not late 2017, then hopefully at some point in 2018.

Ideally, if the events continue to grow and if guests enjoy them, we'll look at other cities from there.

With the additional lead time, and by organizing the receipt of donated items in advance, we could use this same eBay system to organize an even bigger and better charity auction.

Here's how the breakdown will work:

eBay items can only be allocated to one charity, and that organization has to be registered with eBay.  With those criteria in mind, we designated the International Rescue Committee  as the recipient of 100% of the purchase price of the eBay auctions.

Thanks to the eBay charity system, we don't have to deduct fees - even paypal fees - from the final purchase price.  A full 100% will go to the International Rescue Committee.

You may be wondering about our costs: the hats and the shipping.  For the sake of transparency, here's how that works:  we will NOT be recovering the cost of the hats.  We'll just chalk it up as a marketing expense and eat the cost of the hats.  For sales on Instyleshoes.com, the actual costs of shipping will be deducted and the rest will be divided evenly among the following four organizations:

The American Civil Liberties Union

The Equal Justice Initiative

The Natural Resources Defense Council

and

The Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund

As an added bonus, we received the right to sell hats associated with another popular Huddler community, Overclock.net, which had been shipped to us accidentally.  If you know any fans of that community, you can find those available here: http://www.instyleshoes.com/overclock-new-era-fitted-cap/

Those sales, less the cost of shipping, will be added to the pool and divided among the four aforementioned charities.  Shipping costs for the eBay items will also be deducted from this pool.

Individual t-shirt sales made up until the time when we donate all the cap sales will also be added to the pool.  (We'll figure out the charity destination for any remaining hats after that, but it will be one or more of these five.)  As with the caps, we'll deduct the actual cost of shipping - but NOT the cost of the shirts themselves.

And, when I say "actual cost of shipping," I mean exactly that: the actual postage paid, not "shipping and handling."

Neither NikeTalk nor Instyleshoes will profit from these sales.

If you cannot purchase a product, or you want 100% of your donation to go straight to the charity and you didn't win one of the eBay auctions, we encourage you to give directly through the website associated with the organization(s) of your choice.  They're all very important - and timely - causes.

We ask that you donate directly, as that's the most efficient method.  If we asked ISS to serve as an intermediary just for the purpose of tracking the total contributions to the pool, transaction expenses (e.g. paypal fees) would be incurred and that would reduce the efficiency of the event.

We don't want to waste a single penny.

We're grateful for everyone's support.  Even if all you can afford to do is help us get the word out, that matters and is greatly appreciated.  We want to find good homes for these items and use this opportunity to serve the greater good.

As you've alluded, when you consider the breadth of purpose of the organizations we're supporting on this, it's not even limited to helping others.  It's about helping ALL of us collectively by ensuring that EVERYONE is protected.

Auction #7 just went up:  http://www.ebay.com/itm/-/322443293528?

Remember, Auction #1 closes TOMORROW: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NIKETALK-SN...ty-Auction-100-proceeds-to-IRC-/322437146890?

Good luck to all those vying to become the very first to own the new NT snapback.  If all existing bids are honored, we'll have raised over $1,000 for the IRC with just seven hats sold.

Thanks so much for your continued support of our community and its fundraising efforts!
Jesus Christ! That first auction is at $300! I'm high bidder for one of these auctions but if it soars that high, I unfortunately can't compete

. What I will do is try my best to win and perhaps donate the difference of what I'm willing to max out at and what I actually pay IF I win.

Welp. First auction ended at $300. Hope it gets paid.
IT'S ALREADY PAID

. I WON THE FIRST AUCTION.

@Methodical Management HOW DO WE CHOOSE OUR SHIRT SIZE? I SENT THE SELLER A MESSAGE BUT NOT SURE IF THAT WAS THE PROPER WAY.
Congratulations and thank you for your generous bid.  Sending the seller a message should be fine.  If not, they'll be in touch with you.

Supplies are limited in certain sizes, but we had enough that everyone in these first seven auctions could all choose the same size and you'd still all get what you want, so there's no need to worry.  As an auction winner, your sizing should be guaranteed.

We won't sell them on the web store until all the auction winners are taken care of.
