Not sure I follow you. So you saying its "not cool" but are you also saying that it is false?

I get it not being cool... saying something "negative" about anybody kids isnt cool. But is what he is saying about them not living up to and matching the father, an inaccurate statement based on what we know at this present moment?

You don't follow?

It's simple don't talk about another mans kids. It ain't accurate about Shaq's son but it don't matter whether it's accurate or not.

I don't know where ya'll from where it's all good to talk **** about somebody's kids.

This is just silly.

Being an all-time great in ANYTHING requires the stars to align, whether it's the NBA, NFL, soccer, a great politician, Einstein, Mozart, etc.

Do we waste time talking about Tom Brady's dad, Pele's dad, Obama's dad, Einstein's dad, Mozart's dad, etc?

But that's not the main issue with Donald Trump's Lavar Ball's argument. The bigger issue is that he's talking about another father's children and implying that they could be doing a better job to raise them.

How about this, Lavar: will any of your 3 children come away with a college degree? Do you even want them to? Or does he just want them to be rich and dumb?

Now people will come after me because I'm questioning how Lavar is raising his kids...

The fact is that Lonzo is actually a pretty good player but, just like Lebron's kids, he will never be as good as Lebron.

lavar already doing promotions for it

College degree isn't worth much these days.... that endorsement and NBA lottery pick contract is. Plus we already know education isn't placed high on the pedestal considering they chose UCLA.

Don't even see the problem what Lavar is doing. Sure if people want to obsess about the Ball family like they do the Kardashians clinging on every twit, interview or instagram picture. For the most part I am glad he is there for his kids. A good pct of these kids don't even have a dad around much less one that actually cares.

Watching countdown and they are discussing it. There were two separate parts to lavars original statement and I was glossing over the last part. Him saying bron made too much money etc to parent his kids to be successful was wrong. So I def see where the criticism is coming from and it's deserved.

That's not even what he said though.

Unless there were additional quotes that didn't make the article I read, LaVar actually used his hypothetical self to make the argument that a superstar athlete isn't around enough to develop their sons athletic potential.

He didn't even use LeBron or his kids to make that 2nd point you mentioned. He did use LeBron as an example in making his initial point, that the pressure to live up to that kind of stardom is too much for kids.

Is there really any defense of a grown man talking about some kids who he doesn't know or has no relationship to in order to prop up his own kids?

His logic is just bad as well. Dudes like Klay and Steph have a higher chance of success in the league regardless. The fact that there dad's played in the league for long stretches proves their eliteness as basketball players on this planer, you don't need to be a HoFer. There was a study done about how NBA players tend to come from more wealthy zip codes comparatively to NFL guys too. So more resources won't be bad for LeBron's kids at all.

Reminds of history channel and reality shows. We have blame the audience for eating this **** up too.

Real talk

Remember when VH1 used to show retro videos and nostalgic **** from the past?

Now it's all Celeb-reality.

6 degrees of separation from surreal life and flavor flavor :smh:

Surreal life and flavor of love were awesome though. Now the network just has shows of gold diggers and basketball and hip hip thots. I don't think they have any shows anymore that actually highlight music.

Wut.

I didn't know not getting a college degree = dumb.

I'd argue that worrying about a college degree when you can make millions playing a sport is dumb.

In my eyes, shows like the ones you posted above started all this BS reality crap.

i was just making the point that someone could easily make an argument that LaVar isn't being the best father possible and of course the messenger would be attacked for judging another grown man for how he's raising his kids.

both fathers should be commended for being responsible parents, end of story.

I'm with Lavar on most the stuff he's said but the commenting on other people's kids stuff is a bad look. Build up Lonzo and the other two all you want, but commenting on other people's kids with hypotheticals is a bad look.

He'd have a million things to say if some random players gave their opinions as to why his sons aren't going to make it in the NBA and he'd be well within reason to take exception to it. Same way he should keep other players kids out his mouth. What he said wasn't even all that bad in the context of it, but it's easy to see how that can rub someone off wrong.

Wait what? Do you know ucla is an elite academic school?

Why do people think getting a college degree makes one smart?

I gotta keep the generalizations rolling and assume anyone who thinks a degree makes you smart has never actually been to college to see the demo.

Dude is talking too much.....and eventually it's going to catch up to his sons. Be it right or wrong.

They're the ones calling him and asking him questions. You'd swear he's the best thing to happen them in a while.

He's perfect for ratings. Better hope Lonzo is the real deal or he'll fade to oblivion quick.
