****The Everything LaVar Ball Thread****

The people that are saying there's some deeper meaning behind charging $495 for a shoe are just like the people that over-analyze what authors are trying to do in their books. He's a huge ego-maniac that is very high on his sons abilities so he's over charging for his signature shoes. Simple as that. There's no cultural or racial undertones to it. He not once has ever brought up race when discussing Lonzo's shoe. That is the doing of everyone that is giving him all this free advertising.

I mean from a business standpoint there's more to it than that. Lamar isn't a complete idiot. He could've priced the shoe low medium or high.

Low means it's more accessible but that also means you would need higher production resources and the possibility of people perceiving it as cheap i.e. Shaq or starbury shoes from Payless etc. Sure you get underprivileged kids to buy them but they aren't perceived as "cool" and Yeah that would be a shot to Lavars ego which I can't see him taking

Medium means he's directly competing with Lebrons, Durant Paul George etc and hed get destroyed. and it still requires higher production resources.

Low and medium also would pretty much require him to get into a shoe store which would also cut into his profits.

High price gets him media attention/free marketing buzz, better profit margins, and a guarantee that he's not going to get a bazillion orders because the market is lower for those goods from a new company. So he can make to order in a sense, which is easier for a smaller Business. He knows he's going to have X amount of pre-orders and can plan accordingly. So he's not over or under producing and wasting money. So this is the best option

Plus it allows him to branch out into the lower priced market with a "soldier or venomenon" version of the shoe

OR he's just a greedy narcissist

Some dudes are hyping up the shoes and the "meaning/symbolism" behind them more than the father with some of the statements in here.

that's some Kelly Anne Conway response fam...

he wants people to support black business and stop spending x amount of dollars on the white devil Nike and other brands w/o blinking

he's also saying people will spend x amount of dollars on designer brands or what society deems as designer just to show out for the gram.... but wont support this

I get that.... but is that any excuse for BBB to charge $500 for a shoe that's to this point clearly not worth $500?

thing is...

BBB is not designer

BBB does not have a following

BBB is like one of these new wave clothing companies that comes out the gate charging insane prices.... brands that somehow got a buzz and has people buying it to show out for the gram

problem with BBB is that it's not that ....  it got its buzz from an obnoxious narcissist
one can argue its an art piece.  just playing devils advocate here, but doesn't some wacky paint on a canvas sell for like 30k? why not judge that?  clearly there is a demand for these shoes, so its the age old supply vs demand.  an item is only worth what others are willing to pay.

More than there would be if they were priced reasonable or cheap.

He's sold in the hundreds
As I said in my post above, this is the best route for what his business is at this point. It can be a bad thing to sell above your means. He's sold at hundreds, but made more than he would by selling them a cheaper price. People buy hype

Also he wouldn't be selling hundreds of thousands of shoes if they were cheaper. He'd ust get laughed at for having cheap shoes in comparison to other products out there. He drops $80 zo shoes. Even more people call them kobe knockoffs and he sells hundreds

With the higher price he's getting fool/beasts/believers etc to buy in

There's a lot of demand in his business mind

Remember all the kids wanted the lower tier jordans and lebrons :rolleyes

Lol

It's true that things are worth what people are willing to pay if the couple hundred people who bought a pair or pairs of its worth it to them then that's them, more power to them.

The Kobe 8s was a great shoe to copy...but don't talk to him when you see him lonzo your dad can beat Jordan 1 on 1 lol

btw, for it to not have a following, why do you devote so much time talking about it and the narcissist?

I'm very curious to how things play out once Lonzo starts seeing those NBA checks and is the bread winner.

Curious to if the dynamics in the father son relationship change when Lonzo is seeing those NBA checks and he feels his father is doing or saying something which isn't beneficial to his brand.

I personally would have supported BBB if the product was hot but it's not. The price point just makes it more funny.

The game be saying some dumb stuff these days too. O well tho.

The BBB clothing looks like the gear you see up and coming brands trying to sell at the flea market. Dude really needs to get an ill logo and quit with the 3 Bs everywhere.

The shoes look OK but it's no way in the world that I'd drop $500 on some shoes with a no refund, no exchange, no details other than "because I can" type of ordeal.

Some people really are supporting that foolishness.

even as an interested observer, these are all demonstrable facts.
