****The Everything LaVar Ball Thread****

Keep giving Lavar a pass, but the man needs to chill about even mentioning another man's family. When he criticized Bron's kids, Bron told him to don't speak on his family. Even needing to mention Kyrie's mom wasn't truly needed, but he want to shade him and reach for a point in the process. Kyrie was giving advice to Lonzo, the one that's ACTUALLY going to be playing, not Lavar. Lavar responding ONLY justifies what Kyrie was saying. Stop having you grown *** daddy caping for you.

LeBron, Steph, Kyrie, Markelle Fultz have all been criticized in some way by Lavar. How many will Lavar face next season? NONE.

Stop mentioning another man's family?!!
You mean the way everyone has been mentioning his family? And his parenting skills/style?
You mean how you guys keep saying he is wrong for what he is doing to Lonzo?
You can't possibly mean that. No.

Lavar got us to dissecting every single word he's saying. He done accomplished what he set to do lmao. Watching that video again, Lavar was a bit out of line.

I'm not critiquing his fam, I'm critiquing Lavar disturbing the process of him getting known by the world. I done seen Lonzo play live. The kid is nice, but to say you riding next to your son when you really the one at the wheel is crazy. Jordan's dad was never speaking up for him in interviews. There is a difference between being a good father and supporting your son to the fullest and extorting your son's ability. Lavar been tipping on that fine line since UCLA got that 1 spot. He did a good job getting his son to the position he in now but now is the time for Lonzo to prove his pop's taught him right instead of getting ushered through the NBA process by someone who hasn't even played in the NBA, nevermind a professional sport like Kyrie's dad did. Lavar just be spitting nonsense man.

Again
How do you know Lonzo doesn't want this?
Has he told you that he didn't want this?
Did you have a convo with Lonzo when you saw him live?
Did he say "save me bro", "I'm unhappy" or "I wish my dad would stop this"
Did he voice his unhappiness?

Not only he went at LeBron's son, he doubled down on it

First of all when I ever say Lonzo didn't want this? you not comprehending what I'm saying. I could care less if lonzo wants his dad to pick his battles, but when professional athletes try to give your son advice on the professional world and conducting yourself in the league, that does not pertain to you as a father. you should not take shots at their parenting skills, manhood, children, deceased family members etc. When Lavar signs a contract with an NBA team let me know because all I see is Lavar trying to dissect and disrespect established NBA players that are looking out for your kid's life once he makes it to the league.

I hope Lonzo is mentally prepared for the hell he's gonna catch when the season starts. It's all fun and games now and I'm sure he enjoys the attention, but it's a completely different story when you're on a losing team and your Daddy's still running his ignorant *** mouth as you're getting washed by the guys he's talking about.

Did Lonzo or Lavar ask for their advice? Why give advice if they didn't ask? It's not their responsibility to give input on someone else's child especially if no one (minus the media) asks for it

Facts, Lavar already messed up the Kobe mentoring deal

lol the state of this.

He set up so much hype and spotlight on he's son. Whether you hate Lavar or not,  we all can't wait to see how Lonzo fairs in the NBA.  I think that's everything Lavar wanted.

Who knows how Lonzo feels either way. Looking the situation from an outside perspective, it appears as if LaVar has sheltered him and the other two boys their entire life and has been a very strong presence and influence in their life. A good father all around in that respect, kept the boys productive and focused and out of trouble.

Lonzo really hasn't left the nest though. When he starts seeing those NBA checks, is on the road 41 games a year, and sharing a locker with a bunch of grown men in their late 20's and 30's, as well as him maturing and developing his own identity, it's going to be interesting how things play out. Unless he plans on having LaVar on the road with him all season long, he's going to likely do a lot of growing and maturing being on his own. May end up cosigning his pops 100%, may end up telling his pops to back off a bit. Either result wouldn't surprise me.

A lot of people end up feeling different about things and their views change as they go from their late teens to their mid 20's and so on.

For LaVar, I cosign a lot of the stuff he's doing and trying to accomplish.

However he's gone out of his way to be critical of other players kids, throwing that "they didn't have a father in their life" stuff while defending the big baller brand stuff, and making other slick remarks which I can't rock with.

Some of his clapbacks have been totally warranted, Whitlock, that white girl etc but some of the stuff is overkill.

This is literally playing out like a Lifetime movie. You have the over controlling, abusive BF, with the quiet timid GF, and everyone is telling her to leave and helping her seek shelter. The minute the BF finds out this happen, he confronts those people and reels the GF in tighter!

......But back to the situation at hand, Imma need Draymond, Bron, & Boogie mic'd up when the Lakers come to town

Mind blowing how some of y'all wanna see this dude and his dad fail. None of them have done anything illegal; they just want to win and support their family and make history.. break the mold, get the money they feel they deserve and get a co branding deal out of a sneaker company... and y'all praying on his downfall. Truly sad.

He's going to have a bulls eye on him from day 1. If he goes out and produces and performs well though, he'll earn the respect of his peers.

A lot of the competition is going to be looking at him as a little daddy's boy b initially and going out their way to prove a point against him. If he produces and plays well and shows signs of distinguishing himself from his pops he'll be just fine.

no one want lonzo to fail, we want Lavar to shut the **** up because he setting the bar too high for his son who aint even touch the court yet. which in itself will set his own child up for failure

There's really only like three people in this thread that want Lavar and Lonzo to fail
And they haven't posted in here for a while

I don't want him to shut up at all. He's been very successful to this point being him, why should he change for your comfort. how's he setting his own child up for failure?

I want Lonzo to do great, not because being a Lakers fan and wanting the team to be successful, but because a bad rookie season could ruin him mentally with the pressures his dad is placing on him.

Him saying Lonzo gonna be better than steph, saying Lonzo gonna be the GOAT first year. Lavar saying the lakers gonna get to the playoffs and a championship his first year in college and the NBA then him blaming his downfall on his team mates in the ncaa tourney.  Lavar comparing his son to lebron's 12 year old child when that's a dumb *** comparison. Lavar just says a lot of dumb **** that could potentially be a locker room night mare. Can you picture the Lakers losing 10 of their first 15 games and lavar blaming magic johnson for Lonzo's downfalls as for not putting pieces around him to flourish, yet his son is supposed to be this next level jason kidd floor general who makes all the pieces work? It could end real bad if lonzo first year is trash

Exacty. Most everyone wants Lonzo to be successful BECAUSE of this. Lonzo is def talented and seems like a genuine kid. It's honestly sad that the bar is going to be set so high. I mean he even has the pressure of how well he plays dictates the stake of BBB and its success.
