Anyone remember the 2004 AJ4 Classic Green?

I have a question about this shoe.  This is not meant to be a discussion of how good or bad the quality has gotten with these or any other past/current release.  But in terms of the standard of leather quality during the 2004-2006 time frame, where does this shoe fall?

I have seen shoes with less than ideal leather quality with the '06 Mars and Military 4's, and shoes with "decent" leather like on the '06 Tour Yellow 4.

Can anyone tell me where this '04 Classic Green falls?

I think they have pretty decent leather, not quite WC4s, but not bad. Keep in mind wearing old shoes can lead to them crumbling

Thanks for the reply. Good to hear the quality is decent. As far as the crumbling goes, yeah that is always a possibility. Since the quality is alright I would swap the soles if needed.

I had them. Not only did the netting yellow before you even got home from footlocker, but the leather was stiff and plastic-y. Definitely "less than ideal".

I remember copping these for the then MSRP of about $100 back in the day. Had a matching green tee with a white jumpman on the front center. Joints definitely weren't as bad as the military blues.

I have a pair I bought from a thrift shop in 2010 for about $28.. I tried to restore them but there is no fix for that ugly yellow netting. I wish I could get my $28 back haha

I remember those. They were my first Jordans I bought when I started buying retros. I bought them a week after the release date. I thought they were the greatest thing ever since I was into all white shoes back then. The leather was crap on them and the midsole paint chipped heavily. I would never buy these again

back then, a tell-tale sign of fake 4s was when the netting wasn't parallel with the wings.....when i saw these, i thought JB got their hands on the wrong molds or something. seriously hit a new low. the paint, the leather, the wings, the netting...not much was right with these.

These were awful .. I hope they never retro.

I need a pair to rock with my Celtics gear. I bet a Ray Allen PE release would fly if it was labeled limited

You have to admit that this custom by Vickalmighty at Reshoevn8r is pretty hot, tho.  This is what I will be doing if I get a pair of these.

People liked these when they came out. Keep in mind, this is when things really started to suck as far as releases. I never owned these, but this was around the time I first started having money for my own shoes and the quality of other 04-06 releases was when things really started to go down hill in the quality department. I remember the "pures" being decent.

I still have my pair in storage, they were a clean colorway but that netting just turned yellow way to fast, i got maybe 5 good wears in before they started turning on me

2012 4s were TERRIBLE, the white cement was passable only cause it didn't crack. The bred and fire red 4s cracked up FAST.

the toro 4 and fear 4 are holding up good.

These were awful .. I hope they never retro. :x

I remember working at Champs when these came out and they sat for MONTHS

So many price cuts before we got rid of them. Same story with the white and green 14's

They must have started yellowing in the store if they were sitting that long, right?

I did a custom like this to my pair but made them look like a green version of the Fire Red 4s. I ended up using the wrong type of acrylic paint before I knew about angelus and the paint on the midsole cracked like no ones business

I was always a big fan of this colorway, honestly like these better than the pure money/silver anniversary IVs.

The green adds a nice pop of color to the shoe, super clean imo.
it really shouldn't be much issue with this CW
^This exactly
