German sportswear manufacturer adidas  announced its 2016 year-end earnings on Tuesday and all evidence points to a dominating performance. CEO Kasper Rorsted said the company had an “exceptional year” — reported sales climbed 18% to $20.4 billion USD and North America saw a 24% climb to $3.6 billion USD. “We have improved the desirability of our brands and products around the globe. As a consequence, we were able to increase revenues strongly and achieve a record net income of more than 1 billion euros for the first time in the history of our company,” said Rorsted. Further evidence of adidas’s dominance over competitors was given by Daniel Roberts via Twitter  where the Three Stripes’ stock price (pictured below) is shown growing 67% over the last year.

A forecasted increase in sales between 11% to 13% for 2017 will only be bolstered by the adidas Consortium Sneaker Exchange  program, Messi contract, launch of Paul Pogba’s signature collection, focus on the EQT  category, new UltraBOOST models and colors, Pharrell collaborations, Alexander Wang x adidas Originals capsule, and of course continued YEEZY BOOST  collaborations. It’s no wonder the brand was able to offer an island  to any NFL prospect that could break the 40 yard dash record at the Combine this past weekend.

One gripe about adidas is how expensive ultra boosts are. 180 for some flimsy *** shoes is highway robbery.

Other than those and the yeezys what else does adidas really have. As long as I can have a better chance with copping Jordan I's they can keep adidas as the hype brand for as long as they want.

I know he was. I wanted to be the first to say it.

Is that not how "in before ____" works or have I been reading it wrong all this time

Human races, nmd's, Stan smiths tubulars etc...

This board will never admit it but Kanye made Jordan 1's hot. Before Kanye started rocking them with the waxed denim, nobody was chasing after them like that. I bought 01 royals in 2010 for $90.

Just look in the adidas originals thread. They release a lot of nice designs.

Adidas basketball is killing it as well.

UA had potential but I can't rock with anything.

From a basketball standpoint Adidas got the game on lock right now. All my local teams are wearing Crazylight boost/ Rose/ Hardens. I picked up a pair of Hardens to see what the big fuss was and only play in them ever since.

Boost/Primeknit is where its at... if Kanye and Pharrell can come out with any design the boost and Primeknit material will sell.

No hype No bias just facts
Boost Primeknit 1000 times better than Flynit/zoom

Fool explain the last 30 years

Nobody denying the fact that Nike will always be iconic and nothing can ever touch the original releases of the Jordan 1-13.

With that said Nike hasn't made anything innovative in the last 5years. The leading Lebron line is a joke and there are way better alternatives outside of Nike when it comes to basketball, running, and lifestyle shoes. Outside of Nike Retros what does Nike have? Adidas is heading into the right direction focusing on comfort/new designs while Nike is making lazy designs and focused on Hype/loyalty.

Props to Adidas hopefully it lights fire under Nike and at the end of the day we get better quality/ more innovative products from both companies.

But I can't ride/take up for Nike when every new design I see is unispired.

Eh, I wouldn't say this.

You got an absolute steal for those 1's.

UBs and Yeezys is all they have, huh? So they're killing the market because of those 2 lines, right?

10 Years ago we saw Vans have this type of surge and their profits and sale % increase looked exactly like this. You need to understand that Adidas is looking good on paper because they are coming from the basement. For over a decade and a half Adidas was bottom of the chain, nobody was checking for them. They have made some great strides as of late and their plan of action is clearly paying off. To say Nike is washed is not only ridiculous; it's downright idiotic. Nike is a juggernaut and will continue to be top of the food chain. Whiled other brands may have moved in on some of the market share, they aren't anywhere near the top. This is NT though and there will always be those hypebeast who are prisoners of the moment.
