Neither touch the 2000 tho.

Yes, 2014's were better. See how opinions go?

That was suede, in addition to the colors being off.

Actually no, it looks like they're using the same materials that were used on the Nike Air 5s

I'm sure they'll step up comfort on the new retros, most newer retros since the "remastered" program have been comfortable

Have to agree with the consensus that the last round of Infrared's were just horrible to wear...I made the mistake of taking a brand new pair to Disney with the kids for three days right after they released...

WIRs are not that bad, by BIRs are DS but I've heard they are much worse, comfort-wise.

You guys honestly expect too much from a shoe with 1991 tech. 6s have never been very comfortable, even compared to older models-I still remember Kicksology.net trashing the 2000s retros (when they first released) for comfort and those were probably closest to the OG release.

My point was that 6s have always been criticized for their comfort. You are right that the 2000s are probably a lot more comfortable than what is retroed today (same with the 1991s-those are probably better than the 2000s) but you can't expect Ultra Boost or Flyknit Lunar Epic levels of comfort from ANY Jordan 6s.

2000s were bricks too. I vividly remember thinking 'Jordan had to play in these??? Jesus...'

No 3m, bricksole, weak glue, trash materials flaked off the upper. Garbage was more of a replica than a retro. Had that nike air though.

I cant imagine it could get much worse than what they did in 2000 but apparently they achieved the impossible and lowered the bar

Are the maroons ok?

I co sign the flakey durabuck comment on the 2000 pair. I literally pray my Bordeaux and Metallic aren't like that in a few years.

wtf is the point in the air bubble and crap if you can't use it when there's a thick cement cardboard in between it and your foot?

It's not even the cardboard, it's the hard PU midsole that keeps you from feel that heel air. It's also why 3s, 4s, and 5s feel the same way. It doesn't matter how much air you have in the midsole if the midsole surrounding it is too hard to compress enough so you actually activate and feel the air.

Look at that midsole...looks like big slab of concrete.

Just have to live with it because it's not going to change unless they start doing Ultra editions of Jordans.

Thank you, somebody finally gets it. Once they changed to the thick nitrogen filled air units in 2004, they created a new harder polyurethane midsole. Im not saying the shoes before that were the most comfortable, but the polyurethane pre 2004 was softer and made the air units responsive. This goes for most of Nikes retros as well. SF6 Air Units were great for out feet, but apparently bad for the environment, and ever since our feet have suffered because they are gone forever.

So, in terms of comfort on AJ6 IR releases:

1991 OGs - OK comfort level
2000 retros - Comfort level is bad
2010 retros - Comfort level is terrible
2014 retros - Borderline unwearable due to comfort level being so bad

Even thou the air Tech challenge IV og retro from last year has that old responsive flexible midsole. So they can do it if they want to do it, so JUST DO IT!

I don't understand why JB won't release retros with zoom + lunar that actually look like retros and not some hybrids like Alpha 1s. They could charge a premium for them and people would buy them up. The funny thing is, they basically already did this with the Chuck Taylor IIs-even if it was a new model, it still looked like a retro shoe so I don't see why they can't do this with existing Jordan retros.

I had 2000 Infrared 6s and "uncomfortable" is not a word I ever associated with them.

Yeah, you have the technology to do this without sacrificing the OG look. I don't want to hear a damn thing about a price hike either because they already did that in order to give us better quality retros. They don't need another $20 to use softer midsoles and better air units.

In all honestly, just use phylon instead of PU. The 7s, 11s, 12s, and 13s already have it and SHOCKER they're widely considered the most comfortable Js.

need 2-3 pairs of these

Need to see the upper material. If it's the 2014 infrared, then HALE NO. Durabuck or even leather would be better

I'm liking, but I'll reserve final judgment, for when I see them in person.  Too many times, I was down when seeing the picture, then you see them in person...PASS!!!

They are comfortable? I've worn a lot of 6s but never a 2000 retro and they've never felt particularly comfortable to me.
