New member, first retros

Hello, new member here, I bought my first pair of retros a couple months ago (True blues). I play in a bball rec league and these were the first pairs of shoes I worn while on the court. I hear a lot of people say that the 3's are not very good basketball shoes but they work for me, I love the traction. I bought the Cyber Mondays a couple of days ago because I was so impressed. I swapped the laces out today, what you guys think? yay or nay?

going to have to say nay on the laces for both, as the original laces flow much better with he aesthetics of each shoe. if you wanted to switch laces in the CMs, black wax laces would be the way to go.

as far as balling in retros, you'll definitely get props from us....but i personally believe you're doing your feet a disservice by wearing shoes with 30 year old tech. why not KDs or kyrie's or XXXIs? if you like the looks and performance of 3s, good on you...keep rockin em

Definitely a Nay on the laces. If you're younger than 15 u get a pass.

If you're over 21, you should know better.

Thanks for posting and sharing your photos. As noted above if you like the laces that's good for me.
If you want my opinion however, the Cyber Mondays laces look fine but I'm not feeling the TB 3's laces.
Just look too busy. However, it's really about what you like.

Incidentally, I love your guitar collection. I'm a big Strat fan, I just love the sound of the guitar.
Have always been into Hendrix since I was 12 years old. These days I'll go see Kenny Wayne Shepherd any chance I can get.
That powder blue model is a beauty.

Welcome. I love the white laces on the TBs. Just my opinion, but most early Jordan retros (1-6) are very uncomfortable because of a lack of cushion, but beyond that the comfort gets better. Any other shoes you ball on? Ventilation can also be a problem for you

I have wide feet so the KD didn't fit well, I also can't wear Adidas Crazylights for the same reason. I might try out the Kyries

thanks, the strat will always be my go to guitar, telecaster second. I wanted to go see Clapton in LA but I have to miss it

I have two pairs of the Ultra Flys but I like the traction on the AJ3s more. I have to constantly wipe the bottom of the ultra flys.

3's are awful on the court IMO, and thats the consensus. If they work for you thats great, but I would keep an open mind towards other options that were designed in the last decade or so. TB3's are nice though

Yeah, after wearing them 3 times to play, I started to slip really bad, I'm switching to the Hardens

hey strat cat, good luck with basketball. you may want to buy at least 1 or more shoes for basketball .. i've seen people like David West on the basketball

court and people like Dwight Howard at the gym. I play basketball all the time, you gotta make sure you don't only have one shoe for playing ball.
