In the grand scheme of things, Mike Vick wasn't a good quarterback. Electrifying at times, but that was about it.

Calling him football's Vince Carter is an insult to Vince Carter (who will be a HOFer.)

I would consider him football's AI, if I were making a football to basketball reference.. not saying he was that level of player, clearly

but style of play and impact outside of football

What you say is true, but I think you have to emphasize that on the field there is no comparison between them.

Another difference is that Iverson really earned the attention he got, Vick was one of the most media over-hyped players I can ever remember during his Falcons years.  Wildly overrated because of his off-the court popularity.

Also when it comes down to it Vick was just never as interesting or special a human being as Allen Iverson imo.

I think on the field they had a lot in common.. undersized for their position.. incredible speed and quickness.. injuries because of their styles of play

blatant inefficiencies in their styles of play.. and then you have a disregard by both to try to change/confirm.. then you have the practice thing for AI and the playbook issues with vick
