Wrestling Thread June 1st-4th/Post Extreme Rules Discussion

Damn, Daniel Bryan could have killed Jesus and folks would still have loved him. Never seen anything like that man. Amazing.......

That kinda speaks to a larger problem in high profile American federations...there's no reason that slightly smaller fighters should be viewed as inherently lesser.

You watch the Octagon, you know the money there is in the "cruiserweights," and it's because they promote their speed, technique and flashier style instead of harping on how basically none of them could even last 3 rounds with a Top 10 heavyweight.

Arguably the most popular boxer of the millennium is the size of a 5th grader who was left back once or twice.

Why not mix some big deals into the division and stop treating it like the local elementary school half court exhibition they play at halftime of NBA games.

"...should be a billionaire."

Bingo!

This was spoken about on the last MSL/Sullivan show. We (Americans) have made smaller weight division seem INFERIOR when we should have made them simply DIFFERENT. There was no reason that WCW Rey shouldn't have been able to headline PPVs as the "Cruiserweight Heavyweight" champion. WcW didn't have that vision. They made the Cruiserweights the "opening act."

Same thing in modern WWE. If Seth and Finn were actually put where they belong, they WOULD be in a smaller weight class and that SHOULD be ok; but that isn't how WWF operates/operated.

These marks in here would say B+ryan going over Jesus makes sense too

It could be so good man...catchweight fights as people right on the line like Cesaro, Nakamura and Rollins move up and down in weight class to challenge different opponents, dual division champs, the odd champion vs. champion bout, plus interesting new matches like AJ-Neville, Tozawa-Ziggler, Balor-Ali...hell, a sketchy little wireframe like The Brian Kendrick might be the man with the plan to outsmart a total juggernaut like Braun Strowman once in a while.

I get pumping the crowd up with a rapid fire rana match right off the bat, but a heavyweight slugfest something like Goldberg and Lesnar had at this year's Mania could do the same thing.

I feel like money is being flushed down the toilet by their lackluster treatment of that weight division. I'd rock a Neville shirt under the right conditions and they do not exist.
