Kurkjian said on LeBatard Radio Show yesterday that we will get one of Machado & Harper... No doubts about it. It's a lock...... In terms of what this team is, we're only adding some big pieces away from a team that will win multiple World Series.

Greg Bird - Has had a really slow start, but some encouraging things

In 2015 46 games he went .261/.343/.529 with 11 Homeruns 31 RBIs.
2017 in 12 it's .122/.217/.268 1 homerun 2 RBIs.

Sounds really awful, but let's look at it further.

His BB% is 10.9, was 10.7% in 2015
His K% is 34.8, was 29.8 in 2015
Flyball Rate 54.2, compared to 51.4 in 2015
Ground Ball 33.3, compared to 26.7 in 2015
Line Drive 12.5, compared to 21.9 in 2015
Pull / Center / Oppo is 32.0/28.0/40 compared to 41/35.2/23.8
Soft/Medium / Hard Hits 24.0/32.0 / 44.0 compared to 14.3/41.0/44.8

When you look at Greg Bird's at bat break down, out of 161 pitches he's seen as of April 19, he's worked the count, let 61 go for balls.... He's seeing 4.21 pitches per PA, which shows he's being patient.... Only 14.4 of his pitches were called strikes, 38.1% taken for a ball. So he is getting the bat on the ball, and doing okay not chasing.

It's basically, he's not getting balls to fall in (Soft Hits & Ground Balls up, Line Drives & Medium Hits going down), and when he does hit it hard it's finding a glove..

I THINK, he SHOULD be fine.
