Houston's Killa Kyleon releases his new project "Lorraine Hotel" on the 49th anniversary of MLK's assassination.

Yesterday marked the 49th anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. at Memphis' Lorraine Motel, an upscale destination that accommodated exclusively black clientele, including MLK, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, and Otis Redding. Houston rapper pays homage to these legends and others with his new 14-track project Lorraine Motel.

“The Lorraine Motel project is directed at what's going on in today's society within the black community as a whole," Killa Kyleon said in a statement. “It’s not a one-sided commentary, it deals with the treatment people of color have been receiving from law enforcement and how we are programmed and influenced by social media, television and the culture of hip hop to treat each other as well. As a race and culture, we need to stand together, but also take accountability for our actions."

This album is hard. Killa is rapping his *** off and the beats are really good. Speaking on some real stuff throughout. Seems like an even better version of T.I.'s Us or Else ep. Love when rappers really have something to say and the beats match up to that content.
