I know this might seem like a stupid question but can a regular family physician diagnose something like elbow pain if it deals with the nerves and/or joints?

Or do I have to see someone who specializes in sports medicine or something like that?

Im not trying to waste time going to a physician only to be referred to a specialist.

See an orthopedic doctor if you can. You would need an MRI if something is seriously wrong.

If you're having numbness or tingling it's probably your ulnar nerve. Do some stretches. Hold out your arm like you're making a stop sign and then bend the fingers back with your other hand. You should feel a stretch at the elbow.

Depending on your health insurance you might have to see your family doctor to get an authorization though

Unless you don't mind paying cash to see a specialist.

Yea I dont think its that. My elbow just hurts/tingles when I do any pushing motion with resistance (ex pushing a grocery cart).

I dont feel any numbness and my grip strength is still good. But its been like this for about 4 days and it hasnt healed up so im a bit worried.

Might have to see a PA this friday at an urgent care
