Yo what up NT,

Just touched down in San Diego to enjoy a little time off. I'm here until Monday. I'm from Chicago and know there's alotta SoCal NT'ers. What are some must have eats and decent spots to visit/drink/scoop ******?
Thanks in advance

Carne Asada fries and California Burrito.

If you like beer we got all kinds of craft beer to choose from.

Hodads

Phils BBQ

Gas Lamp

La Jolla Cove

OB, PB, Misson Beach

Coronado Bridge

Petco Park for a Padres game

Can cosign guero and jc.

I personally like Lucha Libre and Lolita's for Mexican.

Phil's is ok, but I'd avoid going during the dinner rush or anytime on a weekend, especially the Point Loma location (main one).

Beer is everywhere. Modern Times is a good one if you have to stay in the main city area. Miramar road has tons if you got transportation to go up that way.

Petco is a beautiful stadium, so get tickets for nosebleeds for a day game.

Gaslamp nightlife is great on Fridays and Saturdays. PB nightlife is great if you want to pick up white girl wasted girls.

North Park is my favorite neighborhood. Lots of restaurants and bars with a more chill vibe. Ya boy Lupe Fiasco is performing tomorrow at the North Park Observatory. I'll be there for that.

Can cosign all of this.  Personal faves are Lucha Libre( the surfin California burrito is magnificent), Hodads and Ill add Slaters 50/50 in Point Loma.  North Park is definitely a cooler vibe.  Check out the Mission brewery, it's right near Lucha Libre.  Their Hefeweizen is amazing!

Good look on these suggestions!

So far I've been to Ballast Point brewery which was decent, now heading over to PB for the night. I've heard it's the Wrigleyville of SD Aka hammered white wiminz everywhere haha. Bar suggestions?!

Luche Libre wack to me and Lolitas went up in price again :smh: but it's still good.

Check out Liberty Station got a brewery over there along with market place. Heard they opened a Dirty Birds (wing joint) and that spot is good! Slaters 50/50 is also in the area.

North Park is chill because it has many bars and places to eat.

beaches:
Mission
lajolla cove are a must.

drinking and food
hill crest/North Park(great nite life too)/little italy. find a brewery and have a blast.
greatest brewery per block ratio in the US :pimp: damb good ones too.
pass on the gas lamp for clubbing unless that's the goal. I prefer north park (young fun crowd in a relaxed setting)
Pacific Beach is the college area and has the most drunks routinely except Gaslamp on a Saturday night.

Cowles mountain for hiking.

SD Zoo/Safari are dope
kids: lego land, sea world.

Balboa park has some fun stuff for kids too and is a great place to walk.

Use Yelp for food recommendations.
STAY AWAY FROM FAST FOOD AND PLACES YOU BEEN TOO!
SD Has a GREAT variety of food. Try new stuff. :pimp:
Only place I recommend for food that you wont get any where besides Daygo is Cocina 35. chilaquiles (breffus nachos :pimp:)

Use uber.

Some spots I like going to that haven't been mentioned yet:

Neighborhood

Basic (pizza)

Urban Solace

Civico 1845

Honestly, can't go wrong with anywhere in SD. All the places above are great. Yelp is your friend. And enjoy the best city in America.

Favorite specific spots in Pacific Beach and Mission Valley?

Gonna try out Lucha libre and prob head to North Park later

Which hotels do you guys stay at? Near gaslamp
best western is like 60 per nite and walking distance.
try AirBNB and get a place in golden hill(my location :pimp:) which is a 2 min uber to DT.
or ball out and stay in the hard rock which has a dope club n it.

Staying In mission bay 2 nights, downtown 2 nights, Andaz 1 night.

Ok so far I've been to:

PB Alehouse
Ballast Point
Taco Surf shop
710
Shore Club
The Local
PB Boardwalk
In N Out
Lolitas
Eos fitness

Call me biased or whatever but SoCal is not seeing Chicago food wise like... at all

One thing I've learned so far is Rumplemintz and shrimp tacos do not mix [emoji]128553[/emoji]

Yea, outside of carne asada fries/california burritos, SD isn't known for its culinary prowess

Plus all of those places you listed are bars & fast food

Taco Surf shop and Lolita's were both hyped on Yelp lol so naw

But ya it's all cali burritos, shrimp tacos, and steak fries lol
