But Russ went 4/18

Teammates were shooting at a higher %

22% vs 27% stinky turd vs marginally less stinky turd.

If Russ takes 4 less shots and the others 4 more they still only make 1 more and still lose.

Next season will be the same song and dance. OKC won't be any good outside of Russ so he has a built in excuse for another decent season record wise and 1st round exit.

Your MVP folks.
Washington is very lucky to be in the east

They own it.

Could go stretch 4 or a backup PG imo

Wait, I see what this is.

If Russ can't win with his current roster. If Russ can't win with KD and Ibaka. Who are the types of players he can win with?

you do realize injuries were the thunders biggest obstacle to winning, right?

last year was the first time one of their 3 most important players didn't finish the season with an injury, since the year they made the finals

2010, they lost to the eventual champion (lakers)
2011, they lost to the eventual champion (mavs)
2012, they lost to the eventual champion (spurs)
2013, as the 1 seed.. westbrook gets hurt in the in the 2nd game of the playoffs
2014, they lost to the eventual champion.. ibaka gets hurt before the western conference finals
2015, westbrook and Durant both get hurt (along with a ton of the roster.. like ibaka missing a bunch of games too)

2016, they lose to the 73 win warriors

not sure how the above is a knock on any player

Oh, this is rich...

We not going to talk about Patrick Beverly averaging 18ppg & 8apg.....shooting 63% from the field and 60% from 3 :nerd:.....

Guess who's "guarding" him :nerd:. You're "MVP"

Rebounds>Beverly. If he misses that's a extra board b, step ya iq up.

My man said Wall was playing bad to start the year but the game that dropped them to 7-13 was a loss to the Magic where he scored 50 points. Wall drops 50 he's bad. Russ drops 50 he's great.

I ask again when has Brooks ran this ISO ball offense in Washington? He was to blame when he coached in OKC. Did Brooks change his style or is the primary ball handler different?

brooks actually did a lot of work since being fired from the thunder.. to his credit

he went and visited other coaches and attended analytics conferences.. he had far bigger issues that prevented him from winning in okc before getting to iso ball with westbrook, Durant and harden
He's getting all this love because the expectations are different now

They get eliminated by Cleveland this year & the next 2 & people will start poking holes again.

He assisted on 10+ scores, those rebounds that people call stat padding are crucial in him getting into the open floor drawing the defense and finding the open man.

I would argue that playing defense is more crucial than jackin for rebounds

What about 5 shots?

That is always when games are lost, when the bench comes in. We were up 12 late 3rd and if you went to take an easy **** and came back 5 minutes later we were down 4 all of the suddens. Billy should have played McDermott more. I understand you feel like he is a defensive liability but we weren't getting stops anyways
Taj HATES it here though. You can tell. He is the main one to have a I don't get the ball enough complaint. He works really hard in the post but if you don't get open enough in about 2 seconds while he's looking Russ puts his head down and goes elsewhere.

But again, Dipo can't even lead the bench unit and he's supposed to be the guy. For 21 million at that?! I'd rather have Dion. At least he is consistently aggressive.

Obviously Semaj isn't even an NBA player. Idk why he is in the league much less the playoff rotation

But yes it's hard to defend 3 of 17 fgs in the 4th, but again this team is built that way. You can't afford to sit him either

Alpha b, not only does wall lack gravity he isn't alpha. Honestly russ leads the league in alpha, which is why he's him a dupe the voters into winning mvp.

Knowing Dippo's getting 21 make's 17+ for Dion feel a lot better. Hopefully

Getting eliminated by Cleveland isn't a shock. They have the best player in the NBA. OKC had two of what I'm told are the top 5 players in the NBA.

People say OKC had two of the best ISO players in the NBA yet criticized Brooks for playing ISO ball. Makes no damn sense. Sounds like he put them in a position to be successful and the stars didn't deliver. Can't have it both ways.

They still lose. At the clip the others were hitting would have taken them 8 more shots to hit 2 more but then 5 less shots for Russ means a 1 lesser make as well.

There's no way you're looking at the numbers this year and saying that the Thunder players are just so AWFUL that they could never do anything. They finished dead last in 3 point shooting, and had 4 players(over 50 games) who shot better from 3 than Russ. Guess who took 7 3's a game? There were 6 players(over 50 games) who shot better from the field. Neither of those include Taj or Doug. There were a grand total of 2 players besides Russ who shot more than 10 times a game. And consequently, there were 3 other players who averaged double digit points besides him. The numbers suggest, he has help. His teammates are hesitant because they've been forced to defer all year. But that triple double

How many of those 3 are perimeter guys? Adams 1 of them was in foul trouble and the other Kanter barely played. The 3rd has gone 5-25 so far in the series in Oladipo.
