Rockets, and possibly Utah lol.
- I don't see how the rockets have the Clippers number? They won the season series against the Clips 2-1, one of the games was played without Blake AND CP. They've played one playoff series in recent memory that went 4-3 their way. You gasping at straws with this one

- Going into this series Utah has lost 18 of their last 21 games against the Clippers. Now Utah May win this series, but if anything, the clips have the jazz number

- No one has beaten san antonio more in the last 3 years than the Clippers, so nope not there either.

This is what I mean when I say the separation between The Clips/Spurs/Rockets isn't that grand at all.

and what did they do after they ousted the Spurs?

The Clippers have been stuck running in place through this whole Doc/CP3/Blake era. The Spurs are definitely a better situation.
How are the Spurs in a better situation

Because they have a player that's better than everybody on the Clippers. A great coach, they got a great organization that's proven. Clippers got CP3 and Blake who come up short all the time.

Yeah, that's not a compelling argument, just my opinion. If SAS are in a "better position than LAC" it isn't by much

The Clippers have had other issues than the Warriors. Grizz, Houston, OKC. They can't beat any team that puts some pressure on them. Year after year they come up short. Yeah they've had injuries but that's another thing. They lack heart/toughness and they can't stay healthy.
I mean like I said, they've beaten GSW (pre steve kerr) beaten SAS, Beaten the Grizzlies, lost to houston in 7 in which they were up 3-1, and lost in 6 to an OKC team that doesn't even exist anymore off of a choke job arguably.

I'd say that they've been fair in that span. And you're right they can't stay healthy, but I don't agree with blowing teams up due to health, that's luck. You just hope luck goes your way in that regard.

They've had success against every team in the current west outside of Golden State. There's no reason then, to blow it up unless you're blowing up everyone else too.

You just go by narratives 24/7 when it comes to basketball man .

The Clips have beaten in the playoffs the Grizzlies, Warriors and Spurs.

All of those teams you would consider "tough" at some point. The last 2 Champions in the western conference have lost to the Clippers in the playoffs.

Cut this "thoughness" BS out. They choked in 2015....no doubt. But this has been a team decimated by untimely injuries.

If the Clips made the WCF once and got swept....would that justify keeping them together?.

Truthfully....all of the other teams in the west are in the same boat. He who makes the western conference finals and loses to the warriors just had a better, healthier regular season...and better matchups come playoff time.

This is ironic because Kawhi nor the spurs haven't been great against the Clippers at all

Spurs dropped 3 of 4 in which Kawhi was at 23 a game on 43/33/88 I think. (Another reason why Luc is awesome btw)

I'm DEFINITELY not saying the Spurs should blow it up. That'd be stupid. I'm just saying the Clips shouldn't blow it up either. Are we going to sit here and act like the Spurs are that much better than the Clippers?

Skip Bayless is THE most influential figure in sports media.

Bar none. "Skipisms" are at the core of casual basketball debates.

Skip troll game >>>

So having the best player, the best coach, the better organizer ain't a better situation?

I'm not saying blow it up cuz of health alone. The Clippers just cant get it done. Some teams just ain't built like that. Thats why they're the Bengals of the NBA.

Clippers are soft. Never saw them as a contender. The choking against OKC was so glorious that I thought nothing could possibly top that.... until josh smith and brewer took their souls.

Now you don't make sense. I'm not going by no "narrative" son, I go by what I see.

The fact is the Clippers come up short year after year. Ya'll keep saying "well they beat this team before...." So why can't they make a WCF? Like I said they been running in place.

How many teams you got Wavy? That's Nuggets, Jazz, Warriors, Wizards, Hawks. we gotta add Clippers to it? Damn homie.

Cost controlled players? They're going to still be near the threshold and be a worse team

You either blow it up completely or keep them intact

"Spurs are the Spurs" is a cop out. They've achieved the same exact thing as LAC since Timmy left.. and LAC was decimated with injuries last year

I'll wait to see how both SAS and LAC does in this playoff run to make any conclusions. LAC has no excuse NOT to advance past Utah though
They've achieved the same exact thing as LAC since Timmy left? LOL, this can't be your comeback. They're 3 years removed from a championship title, a long history of winning (which gives them more leeway), more wins than the Clippers, etc.

You don't HAVE to blow it up completely. They could have looked for a Blake-JJ package to Indy for PG. That would have helped. Or pulled that trigger on the Melo deal.

A lot of Clipper fans comparing their recent "success" to the success of a perennial championship & NBA Final team is mind boggling.

We'll just have to agree to disagree.

That Championship Spurs team is built nothing like the current one. Can't compare them at all

So, by getting PG, who is going to command a max contract, that would be better for them in terms of not being by the threshold and make them a better team? Debatable

Melo could still come btw

That's what I'm saying.

Dudes acting like they and the Spurs are in equal positions. **** is funny.

How are the Spurs in a better situation

Im interested in this as well, All Pop has to do is say I retire and that ship sails and if Kawhi left or was out I dont see how they can be considered a contender. Yes they will win games but no one will take them seriously come playoff time

I feel like any team that got a Baltimore ***** on it, he root for
