2017 NBA Playoffs Thread - CLE @ BOS Game 5 on TNT

Warriors have one championship in the last 40 years and their fans think they the Patriots or something

They have the cheating part down, but they got 3-4 more championships to win before anyone gives a damn

we in a new era, NooEra.

readjust your comprehension my G, no one has compared dubs to the pats. but NT can't sit here and tell me this team isn't considered dominant when you got a handful of people on this message board complaining about how the warriors' superteam has made the NBA "boring" for them, or how they've become disinterested since it's essentially become a two-team league. that aint dominant?

The thing about Twitter is Haralabob is finally watching the game without distractions/Twitter up so now he sounds like he's observing it all for the first time. It seems nearly all hoop writers have this unfortunate habit, don't need to single out just one.

There's a very high chance that they will win 2 championships in 3 years.....and came within 50 seconds of repeating last year.

Not to mention the regular season wins etc.

IF they win this year....there is no doubt that this team is "dominant" and deserves to be talked about in that breadth.

Spurs were "dominant" and won damn near every other year.

The bolded is irrelevant,  if they don't win the championship no one cares. when discussing dominant teams "how close they cam to winning" never matters. But like you said IF then we will see

so no iteration (pre and post miami) of a lebron-led cavs team can be considered dominant since they've only won 1 championship?

1 of nts collectors is taking a L tonight. If wash lose tho the collector gotta check in via prison and tell us his thoughts.

Isn't this the case with every team that's the most popular at the time?

Yes and that's exactly the point.

don't make it seem like the city of Miami/fanbase was just as excited about Ronnie seikaly and Steve Smith as they were about LeBron, wade and bosh.

Gsw fans literally want to try and convince folks that they don't have any bandwagon fans. The reality of the situation is, a large percentage of their fan base didn't like not only the warriors, BUT BASKETBALL PERIOD before the warriors started winning. The bay area is a football and sf giants town. Keep it real

I don't think anyone considered his pre Miami Cavs squad a dominant team. Just a great player who elevated below average players. and no unfortunately when they lose to the Spurs this year in the finals that "dominant" tag can't stick with them.

Heard Jalen Rose call it dirty earlier today in addition to admitting that he used to do it to Kobe and others "to try and give my team an advantage."

Direct quote on that last part. On his radio show. Was effing hilarious.
Impossible. And even if Zaza did it on purpose, it doesn't matter bcause Kawhi's presence doesn't make a difference. The Warriors were gonna win no matter what, they were just rusty.
Let some tell it.

Man, he didn't say that **** to Bowen when he was murking opposite teams shooters for a damn near decade. I love you Pop and I understand your frustration but you gotta keep quiet about this.

Years later though, I still have no clue how Bruce Bowen didn't get knocked out.

I'd be willing to take a game suspension+ fine for a clean look at his jaw if he stepped under my foot. Playing with people's careers and health.

No way Kawhi is playing tomorrow. His ankle is probably too swollen to get a sneaker on let alone run and play on it.

Every team has bandwagon fans when they get more successful, and loyal fans who've BEEN there, and will still be there.

'They have bandwagon fans' and 'they have tenured fans' are not mutually exclusive statements; both are true.

And for anyone who says "ALL of our fans our loyalists!" or "ALL of their fans are bandwagon chumps":

Watching a replay of SAS@GSW, its wild how good SAS looked with Kawhi in there.

There were quite a few possessions where Kawhi helped or switched on to 2-3 GSW players on D. Completely disrupted their O

His defense is "vastly overrated" though.

Agreed. The only people I don't want to hear from on this are Popp and tenured Spurs fans. Both of those were a-ok with Bowen's shenanigans, so shut it.

Current Spurs fans? I get it.

Current Spurs? I get it.

Hell, even outsiders chiming in on their frustration, I get it.

But Popp and tenured Spurs fans? Nah, you need to let others do the talking.

Who said you were all bandwagon fans?

If you're a true fan, do you!

But for any "fan" to say, "yep we had the same fanbase when antawn jamison was the best player that we do right now" is just false and even you know that.

There have been tons of people in this thread that said that our fanbase is made of bandwagon fans.  Even as recent as a few pages ago.  Never claimed our fanbase hasnt grown since we became a great team. All fanbases do.  But the idea that we are mostly bandwagon fans is an idiotic claim.  Try looking for our 900 page season threads when we were winning 30 games.

I would feel the same way if your Clippers became royalty of the NBA.  True fans would deserve that.  And I would say the same thing to those idiots who tried to downplay your team's fanbase.

The amount of annoying GS fans who have no clue about basketball has risen exponentially the past few years.

I'm sorry I might have missed it, but I am a Spurs fan, but I damn sure don't want to hear Pop's mouth unless he is going to talk about Bowen, and especially the blatant cheap shot that Horry levied against Steve Nash.
