2017 NBA Playoffs Thread - CLE @ BOS Game 5 on TNT

You can tell Curry just wanted to match or 1 up Kyrie for getting splashed on.

He was settling for a 3, when he could've drive in and dish out or go for a lay up maybe and 1.

All those wide open 3's the Celtics missed last night were :x :smh:
now, can the Cavs learn from that because if you give the Warriors open 3's like that :nerd: :nerd:

same strategy as last year, make Curry switch on LeBron and make him foul x get destroyed
just have Iggy/Draymond/KD go under the screen and make LeBron beat you from 3

I was thinking this everytime they shot. Like WOW, they are so open.

Cavs are an offensive powerhouse there is no denying that.

But that Defense is BAD, Warriors Defense is Great IMO and Bron will have to work harder than he has all playoffs.
Yup. Boston settled in & gave them 65 in the 2nd half.

They're gonna give them a few good runs before the series is over. Stevens has them running some nice stuff.

But yea, to your point, CLEs defense is STILL porous  They're not getting any stops vs. GSW so it's basically gonna come down to how many shots Kyrie & Kevin Love make.

You honestly couldn't have drawn up a better play than the 2X MVP and reigning scoring champ getting an ISO on Kevin love. Curry honestly just choked.

No way man.

Curry was already hobbled and couldn't even get past TT out in the perimeter when he was leaving bigs as BBQ chicken the entire season before the slip.

He took an AWFUL shot.

Look at the possession for yourself

2 plays that could've been easy baskets.

First play, Curry crossed Love, he should've taken it to the hole.

2nd play, Klay was by himself cutting the lane. Steph or Draymond should've saw that!

and why so many days off inbetween games for the spurs warriors?

nba needs to knock that **** off

It just sucks, because now we have 1 day to talk about nothing

damn it's gonna get extremely ugly in here. cats gonna go in circles about who was more of *****: bron or kd, praying dedmon steps under and takes out a warriors shooter, bron's use of hair restoration products, ledlow, and how hated the warriors are.

I also think if LeBron is planning to play 48 minutes a game people might reevaluate the Cavs odds.

Btw just letting LeBron do whatever he wants with a "one player cant beat you" philosophy is an incredibly simple and naive game plan lol
We touched on this a little yesterday, but that logic assumes that he's giving you high level play on both ends. I don't think that's realistic against the league's #1 offense and #1 defense.

That is a MUCH taller task than anything Phil asked Jordan to do.

This is all very true, but what Cavs did do is erase IT and the team fell behind that. Same way that last year Cavs beat the hell out of Curry the last three games and took the Warriors heads out of the game. Now that's a much tougher task this year, but Spurs showed that shutting down KD definitely got the Warriors out of rhythm. Now, not saying that Bron or somebody on Cavs can do that as good as Kawhi, but history has shown you gotta get physical with Warriors to beat them. Can Cavs do that and give it back to them on the other end? We just have to wait and see.

You guys think George is a good fit for LA? I know LA needs all the help they can get, but is it the right player for them?

I'm not sure he's the right fit, but he's a great player to build around. And if you're committing to building around someone, he's definitely a good choice.

I still don't get why George is so insistent on joining one of the worst teams in the league.

If I was the Lakers and I really wanted George I'd trade for him because I think he's signing somewhere else in FA. Not buying it.

This..Maybe it's simply because he's going to get paid? Idk. With the new front office, who knows? Maybe they'll work to rebuild that roster from the ground up.

Yeah but IT isn't as good as any of the weapons the Warriors have so it's going to be a lot easier to clamp him up so not sure this is a fair assessment. Add that into the fact that the Celtics just came off a 7 game series and looked tired last night.

KD being clamped up could be a mixture of both Kahwi being great AND KD being rusty. Warriors simply have too many options. Klay is overdue to break out of this slump. What better timing than the Finals. Curry has to be hungry with all the memes and jokes on him and that Warriors squad as a hole and he's looking like 2k Curry and from all indications, he's healthy. That's a lot for an already poor defensive team to deal with.

i mean any team he goes to aint going to be better then the warriors or the cavs for the next few years. so where will he win at ? might as well get paid and enjoy the city you sign to.

He could win in Washington maybe?  That team could compete.

I'm not really taking shots, he has the right to go and enjoy living in his hometown.

Because he cares about living in LA more than winning.

Call it the Melo.

Not really. Ideally he's a 2nd option.

For the love of God, please take this garbage to the off-season thread.

Why are you guys so insistent on talking about either the Lakers, James Harden or Russell Westbrook in the post-season thread?

compete and win are two different things. celtics and the spurs are considered contenders. there is a huge gap between them and the team they playing in the conference finals... wizard with pg still aint winning it.

Dog I can understand why he would want a change from our organization, we really have not done much to bring in more support.

BUT if he truly cares about winning, he'd go to a contender right? I mean at the end of the day, who knows maybe the Lakers could submerge into a top 10 team in the nba overtime within the next 2 years but i think its more about business to go to LA. Get paid PG, get paid!

Damn might have to be an honorary Laker fan if he jumps ship yall cool with that? Pacers still my fav Lakeshow gonna be my second favorite. Dat coo witchall b?

Seriously why do lakers fans think anyone cares about them outside of LA

hmmm I kinda think they could beat the Cavs in theory.  It's all hypotheticals, though.

I definitely don't consider the Celtics contenders.  Do you?
