How many of those 3 are perimeter guys? Adams 1 of them was in foul trouble and the other Kanter barely played. The 3rd has gone 5-25 so far in the series in Oladipo.

Because your help has to be perimeter players. Regardless of if a player is on the wing or block, you utilize your players so that way when the playoffs hit... You make yourself harder to defend. Players aren't going to suddenly become works beaters when they went an entire year deferring/not getting looks. That's not how it works. But we can keep placing blame at everyone else's feet

Had Beal been Roberson or Oladipo, Washington would have lost. See I can do silly hypothetical scenarios too.

But McDermott was hot and Westbrook basically looked him off in the 4th.
McDermott shot twice then was benched the whole 4th. Do y'all even watch the games? And Kantner played 8 minutes. So take that up with Billy D too as well but it's obviously related to them being defensive liabilities. Same reason you don't see Abrines who is a rookie but still one of our best 3 or shooters

End of the day it's a 6 seed vs a 3. We really surprised they are about to lose or going to continue to be hyper critical of Russ in his minutes as if they aren't winning the series in his time on the court even with his massive flaws.

Russ needs to find a way to superteam up with Paul George somewhere. Maybe take AD too.

:nerd: I know a place where this can happen.

Skip Bayless gave Russ 0% of the blame for last night. It's all his teams fault. We got some Skips in this thread.
are you throwing me in this group?

if so, please quote wherever you're getting this BS from.. i think westbrook is far from a perfect player, but that doesn't mean everything falls (or rises) on him during his OKC tenure

Which is what Russ was doing the entire game up until the 4th quarter where he went 3/18.

So you're saying he didn't utilize Adams, Vic, or Kanter during the season? They've literally played this exact same way and it got them 47 wins and into the playoffs. Adams doesn't score unless Westbrook spoon feeds him. They literally have 2 guys who can get their own offense and one can't play right now and the other is putting up bricks and reminding people why he was a 6th man on a lottery team.

So who was #25 in that clip? 4th quarter, right?

I'm aware. Some aren't though

I said EXACTLY what I'm saying. You can play coy if you want, but it's clear as day... This teammate narrative didn't exist until this year. And the numbers show, it's not that they suck... They aren't getting looks. You wanna crown him for that, crown him but I am not going to praise him for being such a great player then refuse to lay blame at his feet when it's clear as day he's at fault for some of this. But of course, you also called Steph meh and take any chance you can to hate on Bron... so any real objectiveness isn't gonna happen in the first place.

What are you talking about man? The only guys from last year that are getting major burn are Adams, Roberson and Kanter.

Adams was known as defender and rebounder almost exclusively until last year's playoffs. Kanter and Roberson have been who they've always been one way players who are a liability on the other side of the floor. Sabonis and Abrines are rookies. Did Oladipo NOT get benched in Orlando last season? These are the major contributors to OKC this year. Like I'll continue to say when you go from having to be a role player (and lesser option) to a much larger role in the wake of all the departures OKC had it'll expose you.

Russ gets blame, plenty of it, but people want to lay it all at his feet and call him not a winning player which is ludicrous.

Looking at last night's game is futile. The Thunder were never going to win this series. Like, they had no shot.

This has been a problem for OKC all season. Like my man PJ said when he was coaching LAL and Chicago, you have to empower your teammates man. You're going to need them. Steelo said it, it isn't boxing out here. You can't ***** for assist all season then get mad when teammates constantly defer to you come playoff time. Sure they're pros and they're supposed to be ready but that's not how this works. As the "MVP," and the guy with the highest Usage rate of all time, it's your responsibility to bring your teammates with you.

You can't be MR. Triple double, over 10 assist a game, then cry "I need more help." That's ********. Maybe if those 10 assist were more conducive to team building, and maybe if you didn't take so many goddamn ill-advised 3's and actually guarded, maybe, just maybe the team is better for it. No guarantee that that's a recipe for success, but you having the highest usage rate ever and only passing for an assist definitely isn't the answer.

That being said, Billy D's rotations are trash. You can't be playing 12 guys in the playoffs, that's wild. And truthfully, kind of like the celtics, the Thunder overachieved this year. What did they win, 45 games? I personally don't think this is a 45 win team, which kind of skews how one could think they would do come playoff time. This is what should happen. They aren't good, and russ's brilliance bailed them out on so many games this year that they should of lost. Take away Russ's late game heroics to save this team, and you see how they truly are.

So yes, Russ's teammates are trash but his stat whoring all season long as aided in that.

Everyone here saw the convo. You backed out after openly flaunting your 1K in cash. I'm ready to bet. Are you?

I do $300-500 lunches and dinners all the time like it's nothing. Wanna see a receipt from this past weekend? lol

You only fooling yourself buddy boy.
what we eating tonight im starvin

So who was #25 in that clip? 4th quarter, right?

Where the clips when Russ gave him two wide open looks earlier though?

They were both in the first minute of the 4th, and he made one of them. So why did Russ keep looking him off after that only to launch airballs? Doug got 2 open looks so that's enough and he shouldn't get any more?

OKC isn't good enough to win the series, but that doesn't leave Russ completely exempt from criticism of his play.  I don't think they should have won either game, but I think he should have played better to give them a chance.
