Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

funny thing is I could see future doing the superbowl

everybody in the NFL listening to Future before the game

"They" just allowing players to celebrate again man....trust me, "they" don't want future at the bowl..

Yea every player would LOVE it....but the powers that be not going there....

--------
As far as superstars ...cole/Kendrick getting plaques week 1...I love future as much as the next nter, and he's risen like I didn't think possible....he's still gotta catch up to Kenny + cole tho...

I'm changing the channel if Future performs, same **** I do when the white people perform. Bruno Mars should do it every year.

Nah that **** for the fans not the players and I think we got a good crash course on the minds of NFL fans this past season.

They would be LIVID as hell at the mere mention of any rapper like Future and the Super Bowl

Edit: Fewtch bring Kaep from behind a fountain to perform March Madness :smokin

my point is it has nothing to do with what the "fans" want to see or future not being popular enough

the united states as a whole is racist, people are gauging who's more popular off what racist people will allow

I'm not with it

I'm just saying I could see future shutting it down but I'm not blind to the fact that it wouldn't be easy for him to be "accepted"

if bhris brown had his **** together he'd be up on that Superbowl stage :smh:

Yeah at this point he's been popular putting out albums as long as he was living in Tappahannock.

Dude is damn near 30 and people still talk about him like he's a 15 year old kid.

Joe is my guy but

Future is a mega star , tier 1 artist, Hip-hop legend. Look at his features, mixtapes, albums what he's written for other artists in the last 5 years

Future owns so many lanes and flows and creativity. He super underappreciated.

He makes this **** look easy and effortless

Everything you just said is mostly false.

Subpar after subpar song. Although I'm surprised he's lasted this long with pretty much the same
flow and style. I do give him credit for his ear for production and what sounds good. I enjoyed DS2
for a summer kick back album.

But creativity? are you serious? I can hardly understand what he's even saying on most songs.

No mega star, no hip-hop legend, but he's a star for sure.

Your credibility on modern hip hop is shot after you said this:

Who's checking for 2chaniz in 2017? or the last 2 years? Wasn't birthday song the last joint that had major legs?

Adele
Nirvana
The Beatles
Madonna
David Bowie
Paul McCarty
LiL Wayne
Whitney Houston

All these people are mega stars..

between this past page and the NBA thread i'm understanding that sometimes it's just better to not even engage in some of these discussions.... I'm hoping this was a troll , but either way someone is in here looking at the names on those that list and SERIOUSLY equating future in that echelon

If we comparing him to rappers in this trap lane. How and who is making comparable music to him, with the same quality? If his music is subpar then how bad is the competitions music. Who has a better body of work in the last 5 years. Who's been consistently dropping fire?

How you talking about his flow the same and same style? You kidding? On every CD he showcasing different flows on the same album. The flow on Tony Montana sounds nothing like Magic. Blood on the Money sound nothing like Thought it was drought, I'm so groovy sound nothing like Scrape. Salute sound nothing like Perkys Calling. Guess what none of these songs sound the same and none of these flows match and I can give you a grip of other examples.

Future style is so unorthodox, if you a casual listener you ain't on top of his music you assume it's the same.

How he not a mega star??. Let's look at who he's worked with. Did we not see Drake hit him up to do an entire album??

Features,The Weeknd Khaled,Rhianna,Jay-z, Pusha T, Jeezy, Ross, Gucci, Jadakiss,Twista ,Ciara,The Game, Diddy,Big K.R.I.T ,Lil Wayne,Meek Mill,

That list don't validate him?

Megastar is Em, Jay, Drake, Kanye.....Future is not on that level. Most people probably couldn't point him out in a crowd.

I love what Joe said. Because you say someone isn't a mega star isn't a diss. It's just a fact, no reason to get hurt or defend him. You can argue star or superstar but he's not a ****** mega star

People getting caught up in these arbitrary labels and it's causing this discussion to go in circles.

Megastar, superstar, star, blah blah blah. This is not the NBA. It shouldn't be this difficult. Is Future in the most ELITE tier of musicians from a commercial standpoint? The ones that are the most successful commercially, transcend their genre, headlining the biggest tours all around the world, the most influential and visible within pop culture, etc.

I underlined commercial for a reason. Because it seems like the consensus in here are choosing to define what a star is...based on commercialism. If we're talking stars CREATIVELY....the entire conversation changes.
