Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

That wasn't just for Akademiks, either. Vic spewed that to touch A LOT of the corny people who act like AK. AK is just one of those people who want validation and involvement in any movement. No matter how desperate he needs to be. You can tell when he kept saying "Well, everybody was talking about the drill movement. Every was, this that, etc.".

AK just wants acceptance so bad. It's kind of sad now. I feel for dude. Vic and Joey Purp are two of my favorite newcomers. Dudes are cultured and real.

Vic been real. Dude had to call Chance out for his false character but people overlooked that tho...

Looking forward to getting home tonight to watch this.

Please elaborate

What's the song Vic is dissing Drake? I want to hear it.

First time I've ever seen Nebraska look good. Looked like a woman.

"A bunch of strong Canadian guys pressing my white, redhead manager"

"Canadians are very nice. Canada is like one big suburb"

Those stories about Drake being a vengeful dude seem more and more true. That nice guy **** is an act. Dude remembers everything.

Gotta Respect Vic because it didn't come across as someone who personally got their Ego bruised by AK. He just had very detailed views on how AK moves and called him out on ALL his ******** while remaining very calm.

I don't know if that's how he normally is but Vic didn't look like he wanted to be there.

I can blame him, instead of having a dialogue he started throwing threats. it's not (DJ)AKs fault Chicago ni**as dont know how to act. You won't see Vic Mensa pull up on any white social commentators like this.(DJ) AKs vids is satire, but at the same time it shows us that this gang **** aint cool. Just saying R.I.P. ain't enough these ni**as don't learn that way, we need to shame people/community doing detrimental fckery, not the people reporting on it.
Besides making light of deaths, does anyone have a counter argument to this?

We feelin Nebraska with the braids or what?

She looking nice and less tomboyish

Got to the part where he got heated when AK, and he spoke on this before with Vice. He doesn't like how media sensationalizes all the violence that goes on in Chicago.

Ak is a safe guy to pick on and bully, I'd like to see guys like Vic, Wale etc, being so bold around different crowds, street n's or even "white America"

Please, all that **** is an act that n's know when to do and not do

I'll go.

Emotions aside, he simply called out Akademiks for sensationalizing genocide. Which isn't arguable. It was 100% sensationalization. He didn't blame Akademiks for the violence in Chicago. So saying it's not his fault "Chicago ****** don't know how to act" comes off as pretty distasteful and lame.

He called out Vice for sensationalizing Chicago violence....WHILE appearing in a Vice video about Chicago. And he didn't "pull up" on him. He was invited to the show, and Akademiks was the one who initiated the convo. He got asked a question...and gave an honest answer.
but at the same time it shows us that this gang **** aint cool.
if someone ever got that takeaway from one of those War in Chiraq videos...then that's great i guess. But from my observation of his core fanbase, I don't think there's an overwhelming majority of people who came away with that impression from those videos.

The Boondocks was satirical. Nothing is satirical when your dealing with real kids that are really dying, and your entire platform is built on it.

And I'd like to see you say that to any of the "N's" in this thread in real life.

not sure where the punchline of your post is...n's? ******? Or me telling ****** when their **** is an act?...calling someones bluff isn't exactly hard to do

out of all the platform ****** got to speak out and put on this "i'm-cooler-than-you" spaz, they choose a youtube channel show against a non-confrontational dj ak that already plays the punching bag character  ok
