Having a real hard time studying lately for my oral and practical portion for my A&P certification. I've been out of school for nearly a year and I'm finding myself lost in retaining what I read and not to mention losing focus easily.

Any advice or tips to slap me back on track? How much time should I dedicate in studying the material on a daily basis? Any studying techniques I can practice besides reading the questions and answers?

I'm taking this so serious that I've already stored away most electronics from my house to avoid nonsense, switching up my time at the gym in the morning 2-3 hours before work to study at the library, and have gone to the extent of voluntary demotion as a supervisor at my job to have a clear mindset this upcoming month.

I got 2 great job opportunities lined up for June but, require having my certification in hand while I'm in the hiring/background process. So, easy to say that I feel some pressure knowing my test date is scheduled the end of May. :smh:

Freaking out over here. Motivate me NT fam :pimp:

I study in 2 hour intervals, any longer than that and I don't retain any information. Got me through college

Really appreciate the input fellas. Not trying to be spoon fed but man, I'm really nervous since I failed it once already. I would hate to get discouraged once again. :rolleyes :smh:

i remember back when i was back in college, i used to do all my homework, big papers, or big study sessions right after the gym. i would always feel super productive and motivated after a good gym day or good run so i decided to make the most out of it, school wise. might not work for everyone, but it sure helped me

I would go to the library and find a secluded/isolated spot...

Start reading more articles or books to get your minf back in school/study mode.

I work best studying in libraries or coffee shops. Me seeing others studying gives me motivation to continue.

Just some small tips

Alcohol srs.

I had plenty of nights where I was slightly tipsy and would retain knowledge better then being wide awake

Man, thank you all for the tips. I'm definitely gonna read other stuff to get my momentum going. The library helped me out this morning but now I'm debating where to go on the weekends when the library is closed. I will try out a coffee shop though since @Suberzat1 is right in my opinion as far as seeing more people motivated to study/do homework.

Gotta look into pomodoro technique. :nerd:
