Tipping Thread. Vol. Another One

Man I went to an event. Decide to go out to dinner with a group. I only know my friend she hella cool. All these fools are ordering eeeerrrthamg. Mind you I ain't drinking and I really ain't eating. But I'm thinking drop a dub when the bill comes. The bill comes it's $600 plus. This guy volunteers only the guys to pay. I put the card down, waiter takes it. Outta no where I'm like "I can't afford this dinner" go and grab my card. Apologize and offer to pay for the car whatever. No shame in my game.

Everyone I told the story to, was like that's so embarrassing. Blah blan. **** that, I ain't got it like that.

So... Why put your card down in the first place? It didn't come out of nowhere you knew you "didn't have it like that". You did that to yourself.

That is kinda embarrassing cuz you put your card down then took it back lol. But at the same time you didn't order much plus that guy had no right to do that. It's not like you will see those people again anyway so I wouldn't trip

Why did u give her .73 cents? That's a no tip situation if I've ever heard one

Salt in the wound.
OP down an extra $.73. He should have left nothing at all at that point.
Yeah but $0.73 is just disrespectful.

Can't say you weren't paid but were you really paid?

You get kernel of popcorn vs no food when served at the table when everyone else got oodles more, the common reaction would  be  "WTF is this"?

Think Diddy pulling out the $1.00 bill but for the opposite reason.

Maybe they thought y'all was drunk ? Didn't serve you for the third quarter lmao...but a straight no on the fries I'd need to ask for a manager lol they trollin you and putting you on snap

Did your boys leave a tip? Your .73 doesn't mean anything if they all left 20%

Well if no one seen u then it don't matter, if I don't got it then I'm not going out

[emoji]128512[/emoji] they all saw. I agree if I don't got it I don't go oout. But I'll never in my life have $600 dollar dinner. Just isn't my thing. It was impromptu and I was smoking them out all night.

People will read and ENTIRE thread of ignorant posts, but won't read one long paragraph...

Anyway, it was bad service. I wouldn't leave much of a tip. You can't disregard the customer like that. Too much time passed by before you got your order, they lied to you, and felt like they were doing YOU a favor. Get outta here with that mess.

I was gonna say maybe they ran out of skinny fries but clearly they didn't.

I wouldn't ever go there again. That whole trying to take a picture of you would've had me go off on them not pay for a damn thing.

Forget about a tip.

That's just unprofessional poor service.

Should have gave her a Mexican penny.

What if you have a cheap friend who goes to a non tip country and complains about the difference service since he traveled to a non tip country .. You know what I mean.. I'll come back sober and explain it better

Well he was complaining that the countries with no tip had better service and had better better food for a cheaper price

frequented a local coffee shop today and saw they were using a Square POS to take payments...when the screen prompts for inclusion of tip upon payment, do you include the suggested amounts (below)?

Tip whatever you're comfortable with. I don't stick to a fixed percentage because there is a lot of bad service, but because of this social contract they'll still get a fair amount.
