Rob and Big was my favorite MTV show ever! Heard about the news on Big Black yesterday and I'm hurt about it. They had a damn good chemistry on air and it's a shame that somehow fame and money got caught up in the eventual break up somehow, but I'm glad BB and Rob made some peace before he passed. Dude was a star.

RIP BB

Wasn't this the same episode where he tried on a flat top wig?

I was pretty bummed hearing the news that he passed. I enjoyed him more than Rob.

I died at the episode where he explained what a 'Manpon' was

From what I heard the beef came from Rob having some ***** ways about him and Big Black just couldn't get down with that.

I heard he was mad Rob made more money but i'm guessing that's because Rob was also a producer and wrote the show.

It was a money and ego thing. Like the show was called rob and big but it really started off as just the adventures of Rob Dyrdek and his sidekick/bodyguard Big. But then the show started getting popular and the both started getting bigger and that sidekick stuff couldn't go on anymore. You see how Rob treated Big Cat and Drama during both shows. As sidekicks. Then drama started young and reckless and got bigger and dynamics changed.

Granted rob produced and wrote the show etc but their dynamic made it what it was, not rob alone

I think in an interview Big said Rob was getting 80% while he was getting 20%

I personally wouldn't have watched the show if BB wasn't on it but who knows. I can see Rob making more for selling the show, writing it and being a producer. If BB wasn't happy with his pay he shouldn't have signed the contract. I think he was more upset about being the sidekick.

I was actually kind of bummed to hear he didn't even live at Rob's

I'm guessing the issue was future contracts. The show did 3 seasons before Big left. I don't think Big was unhappy at first. But after 3 years, starting a clothing brand and other stuff etc; when it comes time to negotiate your next 3-4 year contract your gonna want more. Rob would've been content with Big still "living" in the guest room and then doing shenanigans while not changing the pay

At least do like 60:40, but you can't keep paying the co star of the show 20%, even if you are producing etc. why not let Big get some of the producing credits

Ya well who knows what the real numbers were. Rob said they got payed the same and BB said it was 20/80 so it's all speculation. At least after BB left he had some bread coming in from his clothing line. In the end i'm glad they we're on good terms.

He made the show towards the end, they could have easily considered creating a spin off marketed hard based on his success alone.

However, perhaps he is too loyal to Robb? They did ! offer Robb what he wanted Robb is all about $$$$ and MTV/ DC kmow !

:pimp: to the homie though. He did what he set out to do his way..

didn't part of the beef stem from Rob's drug use at the time?

little bro and I didn't miss a single episode when they were on.. Big always seemed like a good dude.

Yea I read part of the problem was Rob doing too much coke.

the show was 50/50. they were both the main characters not that sidekick stuff

they should have been paid equal or big should have gotten more than what he did. thats the issue, in real life aside from friends he was the sidekick but the show was made because it was just them two, not really a sidekick type of thing, it was two friends.

I said sidekick because that's how Rob(according to Big) felt it was and it kinda showed how he would treat the others, big cat drama the rest of the fantasy factory staff etc. Big even said in the interview when he had his shoe signing Rob couldn't even show up as himself and support he had to put a costume on and try and steal the show

"2 wrongs don't make a right, u messing wit that og ***** Bobby lighttt" I knew that whole verse b. I remember I spotted son in the crowd randomly at a clipper or laker last season. Rip my guy BB. This **** really made me sad, that was my favorite show back in high school.
