So StockX is launching a marketplace for timepieces ( http://www.ablogtowatch.com/stockx-launches-stock-market-style-marketplace-watch-sales-online/ ). They are an online database for sneakers, now stepping their foot into the world of watches, a much smaller community than that of sneakers. You got celebrities and rappers flossing about Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Patek on social media and songs. "Patek Philippe the plain one, that's too much sauce." - Future.

With the sneaker hype being "too mainstream" these days, y'all think the beasts gonna start moving on to watches next? It will be funny seeing kids lined up outside Rolex to get on the sign up list for the newest Daytona.

Price point is probably going to be a barrier. For most sneakers it's a couple hundred at most. A few of the rarer stuff might go into the thousands but that's a lot of the watches' starting points.

G shock > tissot > citizen > movado > tag hueyer > Rolex

IMO. I've only owned a few. But I worked in a jewelry store at the time.

Happy with my MVMT watch.

I can do more important stuff with my Rolex money

if their watch authentication standards are the same as their shoe authentication standards, best believe i will try to find those high quality replicas to sell.

My man has Rolex at the bottom LOL. Stop it. I know its your opinion but bruh thats just ridiculous.

One would think so, but some people are spending hundreds each week on new Adidas or Jordan releases. That expense on sneakers could easily reach the thousands after a few months

More than likely I'll get the next Apple when it gets revamped. I feel like the series 2 watch was how the series 1 watch should have been. The series 3 I imagine will fix it even more and hopefully go through a physical change.

The worst thing about watches for me is how often I get them scratched or messed up. I even think my shoes take less of a beating than my watches. That's part of the reason why I would never get a super expensive one.

Who spends hundreds each week on new Adidas and Jordan releases at age 30+?

My homie recently put me on StockX, but I've never bought anything from them.
They be selling fakes tho?

Never thought I would like smart watches.

My girl got me the Galaxy S3 Frontier > *

Feel like I can't live without it now.

Ebay already exists....

it juiced up kicks, but watches already are collectable... you're not gonna see da upside u see when kicks first got online.

Yeah...watches don't really work like that in the resale market; if it ain't Rolex, everything else takes a pretty substantial hit after being worn once.
And I'm pretty sure homie doing the rundown wasn't listing G-Shocks as better than Rolex, I think he was going from entry level upwards? Which would still be wrong, but it would make more sense than saying G-Shock > Rolex

i dont think too many people will use this for watches.

most of the high dollar collectible watches move through brokers or trusted auctions.

no way someone going to trust buying a $5,000 watch from someone they have no clue about on the other end.

the market isnt nowhere as big as it is for sneakers.

yup. read stories of obvious fakes being authenticated and one time dude got two lefts or two rights of a shoe.

For people that live in cities and take public transportation, an Apple watch can be ideal just to do the simple things like checking your updates or even changing your music or what not. I know that isn't the best thing to promote the watch but I find holding my iPhone 6 plus to be a burden when my bus is so damn packed with people and you have your hand holding one of the rails or something. It's really more of a convenience thing rather than the phone solving all your issues that your phone can do. By the end of it, you will still be using your phone but at least there are times where you don't really have to always take out your phone.
