Would you let your child listen to Trey Songz?

I'm talking about songs like Neighbors Know My Name, Dive In, Slow Motion, etc. I don't have a child but me and a coworker were talking about this and I don't think I'd feel comfortable riding in my car with my 10 year old sister and he's singing "WE GONNA GET SO WET, SWIMMING IN YOUR BODY LET ME DIVE IN." My coworker says it's just music. I don't know how I feel. What about you?

No, because Trey Songz sucks. If they need that freaky R&B, they can get it from better sources

[emoji]128514[/emoji] ain't you the same cat who made a similar thread about listening to R&B with ya boys in the whip?

What's up with this musical insecurity of yours, bruh?

And people still listen to Trey Songz in 2017?

The bay area looks at trey songz as a god. He can consistently do shows there and sell out, every time.

Man what??? Where in the world did you get that from? I don't know not one person in the bay that looks at Trey as a God... Unless you counting these crazy thirsty *** females. But those exist all around the country.

I'm with u OP. No bby making making tunes when moms, sis, or daughter in the whip. Usually got the Bob Marley playlist on. But when they exit, that Too Short gets slapped.

I was trying to think of a random artist that makes obvious sexual baby making music and Trey was the first dude that came to mind.

I'm saying, suppose you have a 7 year old daughter, she's in her room hearing "WE ABOUT TO GET WET SWIMMING IN YOUR BODY LET ME DIVE IN" What's your reaction?

 at the random selection of Trey songz

This is one of my favorite topics. It really depends on how the child is raised.
I listened to some hard core music growing up but I knew right from wrong.

It can be a negative influence to youth with little to no guidance. All the little girls that I used to see that were knowledgeable about adult themed music ended up having kids early, and I wasn't surprised. It enlightens kids to things that they probably shouldn't know about.

I think it's more than 'just music' and what's allowed to be played serves as a litmus of what certain people deem acceptable, or will tolerate without opposition. Music puts you in a certain mood and children should not experience those sexual feelings.

Any artist can sell a venue out, just depends how small the venue is lol. He played in Chicago recently, idk if it sold out, but they booked him in a 1,000 person venue..that right there tells me he isn't relevant like he used to

I don't see why not. I was listening to Pretty Ricky when they first came out & I was only 15 at the time.

if you have a problem w him you have to have a problem w most urban music lol

but with the internet and the fact that @ age 7 you probably have given her at least one personal handheld media device with private browsing or whatever on it...she's just not gonna listen to trey songz around YOU lol

what a specific artist tho lol

I listened to mad sexual R&B music as a kid. Sang along and all that ****, you understand some of the lyrics but you really don't at the same time. You just sing along and think nothing of it. So yes, my kid can listen to Trey's first three albums.
