I can see this becoming acceptable in the future bc the counter argument would probably be 'straight couples can produce special children and there's absolutely nothing wrong sun a special child'.
 
If you look at people that breed animals ... They are likely to do line breeding if they are looking for certain characteristics the siblings produce ... If they need to improve on something they outbreed...

so what you are saying is that homosexuals that can't reproduce are ok now because it was misunderstood, but two people that can procreate is bad because they are related?

“I believe that marriage isn’t between a man and woman but between love and love” was one of the societal stances harmonized by Frank Ocean in his song “We All Try.” This concept is the foundation not only for same-sex marriage but also for gay rights in general.             When it comes to the taboo topic of incest, most people’s initial reactions are ones filled with disgust. However, as The Boston Globe columnist Jeff Jacoby stated in regards to these sentiments, “But personal repugnance is no replacement for moral standards” (264). To further expand on the reasoning of this statement, the perspective of philosophy professor John Corvino explains it best in his essay defending homosexuality when he said:

But plenty of morally neutral activities—handling snakes, eating snails, performing autopsies, cleaning toilets, and so on—disgust people. Indeed, for centuries, most people found interracial relationships disgusting, yet that feeling… hardly proves that such relationships are wrong (226).

Every scenario mentioned by Corvino can be regarded as something people find repulsive yet none of them are punishable by law based off of these sentiments.

            Another argument against the decriminalization of incest is that there can be no true consent between two adult family members due to the possibility that a power differential that already exists in their relationship has caused the manipulation of one of the participants into their feelings towards their partner. Although a difference of power can occur between siblings, this argument is generally directed towards the parent-sibling branch of incest and the concept of “grooming.” Aside from the point that a law preventing consensual sexual relationships between these two adults doesn’t deter this abuse of power but only keeps it hidden, if the unlawfulness of incest rests in the notion of “grooming,” then what of parents who groom their children to be racist, homophobic and even criminals? Furthermore, this unfair leverage of power can (and does) occur in “normal” relationships as well; there is no judicial law banning a relationship between a boss and employee, it’s only discouraged.

            Lastly, the strongest case made for the continued illegality of incest is the high risk of a birth defect being present in a child spawned from this type of relationship. However, according to the CDC website, women over the age of 34 also have a higher risk of birthing a child with birth defects as do expecting mothers who smoke or drink yet neither of these instances are criminalized (“Birth Defects”). While these situations are all different, the end result between all three is the same: a heightened risk of birthing a disabled child. Furthermore, this opposition to disabled children born of incest stems from the idea that the child will “suffer” due to this handicap that they had no control over yet research proves otherwise. According to a two-year study presented by Clare Conners and Kirsten Stalker, “Twenty-three of the 26 children involved in the study were asked how often they felt happy… Most children declared themselves to be happy most of the time, with some feeling happy ‘all of the time’ (38).          

            In today’s culture, incest and its unjust criminalization are justified by society’s long held belief that the practice is taboo. When one searches for the meaning of “taboo” on Google, the definition the search engine displays states it is “prohibited or restricted by social custom.” There was a time when homosexual and interracial relationships were deemed so repulsive that they were prohibited by social custom. There was a time when two star-crossed lovers from different societal classes were prohibited by social custom to be together because the existence of a power differential. There was a time in ancient Sparta when disabled babies were tossed off a cliff because the act of keeping a deformed child was prohibited by social custom. All convictions that when examined through the modern lens of the law, are viewed as archaic ideologies that hold no merit.  As a wise man once said, “The mark of a civilized human is their willingness to re-examine their most cherished beliefs.” Well, with all things considered, it seems humanity must prove its civility once more.

With this thinking wouldn't sex with men and women who can not reproduce also be wrong? If we're looking at sex as solely a means of procreation.

depends who you ask ... There are still people and cultures that believe it you can't reproduce you are in fact defective and can be outcast.

However, from what you are saying ... Homosexuality and Insects both are acceptable ... Correct?

I mean that's the argument ... If homosexuality is accepted, why not siblings relationships - especially if that is acceptable by nature (reproductive) ...


End state is that if you can accept one why can't you accept the other?

The premise of the argument is faulty from the outset.

If people don't understand that being gay isn't a choice, much like being straight isn't, then they need to just find something else to discuss.

I ain't wake up one day and decide I like women, I just always have, so why do people think it's any different for gay folks??

Incest is wholly a choice.

I know. That's the point I was getting to.

Sex simply isn't just a means to procreate. At least not in our society.

If it was we could take it a step further and make all offspring a product of in vitro fertilization and eliminate the act of sex altogether.

What's deemed acceptable is whatever society currently says it is. What is or is not acceptable is arbitrary. History supports this; killing women for being witches, killing ppl who were left handed and the extreme discrimination towards them, and owning slaves we're all acceptable at some point in human history.

Also the statement that nature deems heterosexual sex acceptable is silly.

There's plenty homosexual activity within nature. To deny that is to make the whole nature argument disingenuous.

Now you sound a little ignorant ... The fact that liking the same sex or opposite sex is a feeling ... Why can't you understand that insects is a feeling.

If a man and a woman like each other why does it has to exclude siblings.

BTW I don't believe that every single homosexual was born that way.

I know a few people that loved sex however found comfort and love in the same sex partner ... Not even a sexual connection but rather emotional connection.
 
You can't accept one and not the other. I think both are no bueno, but can't focus energy on no one's life but my own.
