I remember hearing that which was basically a rumor but others speculated that 2019 or 20 they would come out with a new improved hemi. the 5.7 is like 13 years old which is old AF for an engine :lol: 6.1 is gone now because of the 6.4 and the 6.2 supercharged
 
hemi ain't going no where no time soon noe, especially because da cafe standards finally got that repreive.
 
no idea about that but the 5.7 gotta get replaced soon or later. that might be the rumor that it could get killed and replaced by then. by then its gonna be 16-17 year old engine.
 
13-15 Chargers that bad reliablity wise?

It aint da hemi but Charger SXT's looking really attractive price wise (used).

Then when I slowed down I realized damn I would have been locked up if I got caught lolz

My neighbor just bought a ZL1. That car is loud just backing in the driveway; still love my 335 hp V6 doe. Mods are getting cheaper for the LFX.
 
what is gonna happen though is da dodge cars, some Chryslers, Maserati, and some Alfa Romeos will all share a new Gorgio platform.

Spotted: the terms for Demon owners


This week, Dodge announced that all 2018 Challenger SRT Demon buyers have to sign an form with safety and pricing information — and get it notarized — before the car can be ordered. Now, Allpar has acquired a copy of the “Demon Acknowledgement Document.”



Critics of the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon have claimed that it is unsafe for public roads, with its 840 horsepower, drag radials, and high-tech track aides. Possibly for that reason, there are several safety disclaimers in the Demon Acknowledgement Document.

You can read it on your own, below, but here is a quick summary.

Line items 1 and 2 basically state that the buyer understands that the 2018 Demon is a purpose built, high performance machine intended for drag racing; so, before driving, they need to read all the instructions. Some buyers may even do this.



Lines 3 and 4 point out that people cannot ride in the passenger spot or the rear when the seats aren’t in place; and that if they do not buy the passenger seat, they will not try to install a seat there later, because it can’t be properly (safely) attached.

Line 5 points out that owners shouldn’t use the track features on public roads[, presumably to prevent street racing; public roads, not being level or as clean as a track, could cause problems with this much power — ed.]



Lines 6, 7, 8 and 9 relate to the Demon’s uniquely-designed Nitto NT05R drag radial tires. Highway use will cause accelerated wear, they aren’t safe in the rain or in temperatures under 15° F, and they should always be inspected before driving to make sure that there is no unusual wear or damage. This should be common knowledge for anyone who has run a drag radial tire, but may be news to some Demon buyers.

Line 10 points out that B5 Blue, Indigo Blue, Plum Crazy, and F8 Green will be late arrivals, likely arriving early in the 2018 calendar year. Then there are two lines for running proper fuels (no leaded gasoline) and how to tighten the lug nuts.



Lines 13-14 are normal disclaimers, but line 15 is new and different. This is where the owner verifies that they paid MSRP or below — or not; which decides whether or not their Demon goes into the priority build list (priority goes to those paying MSRP or less).

This is how Dodge is working to combat big markups; based on the half dozen readers who have already provided proof of ordering a Demon, this plan is working. All of the confirmed Demon purchase orders that I have seen since the drag-ready Challenger officially went on sale this morning have been for list price, making them all priority build vehicles.
 
Last week, Dodge released a spec sheet for the all-new 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. Ever since Dodge's satanic creation debuted, rumors have been swirling around the Internet about engine specifications. The Hellcat on steroids has already shattered production car records and raised hell from the community for its track focused performance, keeping everyone's attention for months. Dodge just added more fuel to the fire with its latest press release, giving fans more information to speculate about until the car hits the roads. For now, here's some facts for you to use at your next trivia night or on your uninterested significant other when you pass (or more likely get passed by) a Demon on the road.

The SRT Demon's 6.2 liter supercharged V-8 making 840 eye-watering horsepower with 100 octane fuel is old news, but FCA revealed that the car will still make 808 horses on standard 91 octane. The supercharger will max out its boost at 14.5 psi, 2.9 psi more than the Hellcat. If using race fuel, the Demon's 770 lb.-ft. of torque will result in a 1.8-g launch, which is almost as much as you'd get in a non-F1 race car. The supercharger can intake roughly 173 cubic inches of air over a quarter of a mile; that's over 800 human lungs' worth of air being fed to the massive V-8.

Hades' gift to the car world will come with an 8-speed automatic, limited slip differential, and Nitto drag tires to assist acceleration and maximize traction. It will also feature the largest working hood scoop of any production car, at 45.2 square inches.

All Demon motors will be built at a special engine facility in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico. These are not just upgraded Hellcat engines either, the Demon engine shares only 38% of its parts with the Hellcat. The pistons, connecting rods, supercharger, engine block, and camshaft are all new for the 2018 Dodge Demon.
