San Fran Brehs, what are must do things to do in your city in July?

The boba spots in San Jose and San Mateo>>>>>>>>>>>>Boba Guys. It'll probably be too far and not worth the trip if you don't have a car though.

If you want something fun to do at night, hit up Urban Putt in Mission District. It's an indoor minigolf bar; I always take my friends from out of town there, and they love it.

I'd recommend El Techo, but it's a rooftop bar/restaurant that's not worth going to if you don't drink. Their drinks are on point, but the food is some of the worst Mexican food I've ever had. I usually get something from El Farolito (like many in here have mentioned) and head to El Techo for drinks afterwards

There's a lot of other places I can recommend, but you don't drink, so it would be pointless to go there

Honestly though, most of the best food spots are outside of SF and sprinkled throughout the Bay Area, so I'd highly recommend renting a car if you're into food tourism and are into Asian food that isn't Chinese (the spots in the Sunset District are pretty good since more Chinese people live around there). Only transplants or snobs that never go anywhere outside of the city will tell you otherwise

San Jose=Vietnamese Food (some of the best in the world; not many options in SF, but there are few decent ones in the Tenderloin)
Santa Clara=Korean Food (the options in SF are TRASH or extremely overpriced)
San Mateo=Japanese Food (many good options in SF, but even counting the 20 minute drive to SM, your wait time will probably be shorter in SM)
Sunnyvale=Indian Food (huge number of options)

Fremont has also been stepping up the past 5-6 years. A lot of good Taiwanese/Chinese hot pot places out there, as well as my favorite Korean fried chicken spot (KaYumi)

If you like Mexican food, I highly recommend the taco trucks in Oakland. I always stop there after a Warriors game

The indoor put spot sounds cool. I`m gonna be using Uber to get around btw.

Is SF known for Mexican or is that mainly a SoCal thing and the Bay has the better Asian spots?

We got mexican food but in LA, there is probably just more of them. Plus that do those Cali burritos which I think are nasty. Everyone and their mama would say go to El Farlito but I think all spots have some good items.

Like there is this ghetto spot literally next to 16th St Bart and I love their tacos cause they make them as if it was made in a truck. Plus you get to dress your own taco with their taco bar. I make some buff tacos.

Isn't SF pretty chilly in the Summer? I`m from the A so it's 95+ in July, but I did a quick google search and it looks like it avg in the 70s in July? Is like Hoody cool or is a short sleeve t-shirt or polo sufficient?

Its warm in the afternoon but it will turn on you at night. Summer in SF is fog season cause of the sun with the coastal temperatures. Let's just say shorts seasons are rare but short sleeves are fine but just carry a light jacket.

Also I refer to this website for all daily things in SF. If and when you come, bookmark this and just check the calendar for anything that is popping when you are around.

I don't know any actual donut spots, but there's a spot called The Willows which serves a pork belly donut which is supposed to be pretty good.

Got it. Whats the best Sushi in town? All of the top list I see have different things so I`m not seeing anything Consistent.

And is SF known for Korean food? or is that LA?

I think it's LA that's known for Korean food, but I did eat at a taco spot in SF the other day called Tacorea which is Korean x tacos. Pretty good and different from La Taqueria and El Farolito, however, I do recommend trying both of those spots too lol.

I don't even know where to start with sushi in SF lol. I'm probably going against the grain, but Sushiritto (sushi x burrito) really isn't as good as everyone hypes it up to be.. I'd avoid it and get a real burrito or real sushi lol.

IMO Taqueria Guadalajara is the best. Al Pastor>everything else. Besides the places mentioned, you could hit up Off the Grid at Fort Mason on Friday evenings or the the Presidio on Sunday afternoons which 30 or so food trucks congregate.

Taqueria Guadalajra is better than the El Farolito spot?

A lot of people will say El Farolito is best, but I think it's #2 among burrito spots in SF. You may have read La Taqueria was voted #1 by FiveThirtyEight but not the best. A taqueria that doesn't offer free chips (and I don't think they have salsa bar. Haven't been there in awhile) loses points in my book. It's a good burrito though. If you do go there, they're known for their carnitas and you might as well get it "dorado style." Depending on how long your stay is try both spots and see which one you like best. I stand by the Al pastor> any other meat option. Can't tell me otherwise.

That's my spot. You can always find seating and their quesadillas are better. Their burritos are more consistent to me too. They also have a Taco area too that I've never tried.

There's also a pretty good donut place near there too and the lady will give you an extra donut or two most of the time. Forgot the cross street though but, it's on 24th near South Van Ness.

i work closer to the 16th side
usually hit up

taqueria cancun
el buen sabor

La Taqueria on mission. Try the cabeza.
Can't go wrong with El Farolitos or Guadalajara Taqueria as well.

You could always go to Off The Grid for the variety. Usually on Fridays they'll have live music.

Date night go tos are Espetus (All you can eat Brazilian Steak house) or Shabu Club (All you can eat and drink shabu and beer/sake)

Exploratorium is always cool to me. Lot of interactive things to do.

Academy of Science is pretty cool too.

Is Shabu Club new? Is it better than Shabu House?

Anybody in this thread been to the Japanese Tea Garden?

My gf wants to go this week, it looks chill in pictures but not sure what to expect.

Yeah, it's really chill. Just follow a path through the garden. Definitely a chill place.

Then you have De Young Museum, Academy of Science all in the area.

Then the botanical gardens is a short walk from there as well.

My girl copped a city pass for two days, hopefully it isnt fully of boring spots

Anything go down on 4th of july? Like fireworks?

Fire works in the city is pretty cool. what some people do is go to a high point, like Coit Tower (should be an attraction on the city pass) watch the works that come from Oakland inside the bay and can turn around and see the works being location past the bridge into the ocean. you probably don't even need a high point just stay nears the piers or Fisherman's wharf

4th of July at Dolores Park is usually pretty fun, but a couple years ago they had some political sketch performance that ruined the vibe. I was just trying to listen to music and drink with friends at the time but couldn't hear anything because of that bull @#$@ Not sure if they did it again last year since I wasn't here.
