Man he has to know something. This has to be the first move and he's bringing someone else with him at some point or something.

Cause idk how you can claim "I wanna win. I wanna build a championship team" then prefer to go to the Lakers.
Looking at the landscape of the league, Dubs got at least the next 2 seasons on lock. He's only 27 years old, he can eventually win and build a championship team with the young pieces LA has (cause they're all still cheap) AND they have enough flexibility going forward to bring another star in via free agency (as early as next summer) or trade after he comes on board. I think he knows wherever he goes next season he isn't winning a chip or whatever.

If the Lakers get PG do Lakers fans start rooting for their team or are they still hoping they lose and get a high pick next season?

It's been 300+ consecutive games of rooting against your team. Gotta feel weird.

They are losing their pick regardless next year. No protections on it. On a side note, how ****** do you thing Ainge feels if the Lakers trade next to nothing for PG and they basically trade the 1 overall for the 3rd and whatever the kings pick is

Sixers need to get in on this. I'm good with giving up Covington, Okafor and next year's first rounder for a year to convince PG to Trust The Process. It's worth it.

Wow. Philly is lucky you're not GM. Jesus that would be terrible.

Bird should have just asked Ainge for Crowder or Smart, late picks in 2017 and 2018 for George

Bird got to greedy , Pacers could have easily tanked after the all star game and got a top 5 pick

Also I have no doubt PG views himself as a franchise guy, and I think he has a pretty good relationship with a lot of the other stars in the league so he believes that him coming will make the Lakers a destination again, plus Magic running the helm now gives us credibility that the old regime had pretty much squandered away. And he has to like something about the young pieces we have already to want to play here.

there should be little to no trade market for PG now.

the pacers shouldnt be able to get much in return.

they'd be lucky to get love from the cavs in return.

now teams can really low ball the pacers for a one year rental.

PG may want to play for the lakers, but he has no control over where he plays this coming season.

teams like the cavs, spurs, clippers, celtics, wizards and rockets should be willing to gamble on the 1 year rental in hopes that you can convince PG to stay after winning. especially because now they wont have to give up much in immediate talent to get him.

if the pacers knew it was gonna end like this, they would have gladly taken love straight up. now, they'd be lucky to get him.

Sources: Pacers reach out to Cavs about possible Paul George deal

Multiple sources confirm to ESPN's Dave McMenamin the Indiana Pacers have reached out to the Cleveland Cavaliers over the weekend to gauge their interest in a potential Paul George deal.

The talks were first reported by The Vertical, which also reported that George told the Pacers that he will not re-sign with the club after next season and would prefer to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers when he is a free agent in 2018.

Although George would constitute a significant acquisition for Los Angeles, the rebuilding Lakers do not currently intend to part with any of their young assets in a trade with the Pacers, sources told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.

pacers best case scenario is that a team is desperate to rent him out for a yr in hopes of winning it and willing to give up future assets (picks, young players)
otherwise, they'd be best to let him walk and not get tied up in big contracts coming back

Not really. Okafor is currently our third string center and literally makes us worse whenever he's on the floor, Covington will get paid way more than he should next year and our first rounder won't even be top 10 next year even without PG. It would be worth it to have a chance at putting together one of the most talented teams in the entire league with one star in the middle of his prime and three other potential superstars that have just started their careers along with still having a ton of money to bring in whatever other role players we'd like.

I just don't get it.

Say the Cavs offer Love for PG. That swap would actually open up a couple mill in cap space. Wade opts out this summer, signs a two year deal with them to finish his career. LeBron and PG are walking away from playing with that team and a prime Kyrie to head somewhere else next year?

Kyrie
Wade
PG
LeBron
TT

There's nobody coming close to stopping that team besides the Warriors over the next two years. And no team is coming close to stopping a trio of Bron, PG and Kyrie for a while besides the Warriors.

And if the Celtics were to throw them some picks for PG and he joined a team coming off winning 53 games and the #1 seed in the East and being in the Conference Finals and adding him to it and they go to the Conference Finals again or even possibly upset the Cavs to go to the Finals......you're telling me he loves California, Kobe and the Lakers that much that he would peace out to go play with a rebuilding team that doesn't even currently have enough to offer him a max contract?
They would lost 4-2 vs the warriors

IMO

this thing is really starting to look like the cavs will have a 1 year run at a title with PG and then everyone parts ways on good terms (lebron included)

If they win bron leaves?

sure, why not?

there's talks of him leaving either way. a title would ease the pain a WHOLE LOT for northeast ohio

or...the cavs could convince PG to stay. but that all depends on what LBJs plans are.

IMO

I said a while ago i felt PG cares more about location than winning. He'll end up being a Laker.

:pimp:

Just wait on it y'all. Evil empire returning.

10 win improvement, I'll take it.
I know right they act like that's a bad thing. GS wasn't winning 65 games every season to start, it was a natural progression. We'll be back in the playoffs in 2019 and in maybe the WCF the following season, just wait on it.

That's great for a team filled with 19-22 years olds and then we just gon keep getting better.

While Harden continues to be the NBA's Tony Romo.

PG ready to go to the Cavs and turn into a spot up 3pt shooter :smokin
10 shots a game, 6 being corner 3s
