I'm told #Celtics offer to IND for George is LAL/SAC pick from PHI, '19 MEM OR LAC pick, Crowder, $$ filler (Zeller pop name, Bradley poss).

PG has given no indication he'd sign an extension at the time of a trade as it would cost him a significant amount of money compared to if he was traded and then resigned after the season.
while true, its gonna be hard for the guy to turn down the bag with them having his bird rights

Does Blake actually have any reason to leave Los Angeles? Seems like he went extra Hollywood and loves it. Then there's the fact that they can offer the most money

Boston will be lucky to get who they can. Shouldn't be picking and choosing on some "Blake and x player is better"

What Boston apparently is trying to pull off is to get PG to agree to an extension before actually hitting free agency which by all measures makes no sense for him. He still would make significantly more by becoming a free agent THEN resigning with Boston if he wants to stay. But if he reaches that point he's not resigning. The difference between annual salary becomes negligible if he does at that point.

When/if Boston actually makes a trade for him I'll worry. This was the same package that was on the table pre draft.

I think it would be enough. Lebron couldn't rest on defense

Agreed.

this truly is one of the most effective ways to beat bron. teams just either dont have the personnel or they realize too late. best way to tire him out earlier is to put pressure on him to play defense. He'll either play it and wear out faster or let you cook to a 40 point game. You tire bron, the whole team feels it. Downside is there are just a few 3s in the L that arent afraid of him and forget they can play when they face him. Melo used to always eat. KD always eats. PG always eats, etc. Soon, it'll be easier for teams to wear him down and tire him out as he ages.

Also this is assuming Hayward is hell bent on going to Boston. Riles got a great chance at him as well.

its  a whole lot better than we can offer them now.

shambles b

Sure but that's been the case for a year now. Nothing from PG's camp has changed about him being a rental for whoever trades him. Boston has always had the assets to get a deal done.

It's been the Lakers preference to let him come in free agency.

Why would Indiana want Crowder and Bradley though?  Those aren't good assets for a rebuilding team.
huh?  They are perfect.  Two players that play very good defense and hustle.  Add them to Turner and then next years lottery pick should be solid assuming Turner continues to develop.  You gotta take what you can get at this point.

Definitely better than Clarkson and our first round picks (Hart and Kuzma)

I think AB fits nice there.

Along with a lottery pick and Crowder's deal is SUPER friendly. Plus their own pick.

That is the best offer probably. They are getting low-balled because he is leaving. I do not think that Boston offer is a low-ball offer.

still think the best offer they are getting (if true) is for Love.  I mean you pair Love (who is an all star PF that can hit the 3 and has championship experience) and Turner and thats a pretty good front court.  They are not winning championships anyways in the next 5 years (minimum) so why not take the best player you can get and at least put a a decent product out there for your crowd.  Either that or tank 100% Philly style - in that case take back a bunch of picks.

They can easily be moved for 1st round picks at the trade deadline. Those are exactly the salary filler rebuilding teams should want.

Didn't someone vote IT on the all defensive team? Or was it dpoy?

People like that should never be allowed to vote again.

Love is breaking down and has 2 big money years left. I would prefer Boston's deal over him if I were Indy.

Like stated above, AB and Crowder can easily be moved if needed.

“I would bet three years at $75-million to $90-million,” said one prominent agent.

But there were differing views. One Western Conference executive thought Lowry could get four years and $100 million. Another agent felt confident would get $30-million a year.

The catch? Both thought the deals would be from another team.

how would he even go to the cavs? for the minimum?

Yeah, because the buyout would be so big would not matter. LOL

eh

Melo can still command a large contract, I don't see someone willingly taking the minimum like that just for a chance to maybe win a ring

Melo took the money in NY and could have went to a better/win now situation

hes gonna take the money again.
He's gnna get bought out . And the Knicks would be on the hook for a substantial amount.
He'll take the min or the cavs will move love to make room for him and wade for the cavs for the year

Kyrie
Wade
Lebron
Melo
Thompson

Even if it's for a year they'll do it
