Chad Ford.

Article also suggested that the Heat could trade Winslow, Richardson, Tyler Johnson, Wayne Ellington, AND the #14 pick for Melo. This guy must think Pat Riley is senile and the Knicks are a competent organization

Goodness. I heard Marcus Spears say the same thing yesterday. #2 is off limits for sure.

I mean, Winslow isn't gonna be a player, the rest of those guys are decent starters/bench role players along with the 14th pick which is the main asset.

Why not if your the Heat offer a bunch of scrap pieces for a 3 year rental of Melo?

At this point, if I'm Miami, I probably wouldnt even trade Tyler Johnson straight up for Melo.

Melo is washed... The Knicks are gonna have to ride that one out.

It doesn't even matter because Melo not agreeing to play there

First of all, Winslow hasn't even played two full seasons yet. At this point, to say he's not "gonna be a player" is extremely premature.

To answer your question, because we have plenty of cap space and can go after a marquee free agent without having to give up 4 players and a first round pick.

Melo is not THAT bad

I know he's NT nee favorite punching bag but come on now

Melo isn't bad by any means, but to give up 4 starters and a 1st round pick for a 30+ y/o player that Phil Jackson doesn't even want around is ridiculous.

This is the exact reason why players are leaving for super teams.
Also because good players like to play with guys who pass the ball, play good defense, and can run a modern offense.

Interesting parallels, actually....

Dude is 33. He's an aggressive high five away from being injured for 30 games.
