Richmond VA area?

But op I like the Richmond area...im from Hampton Roads so I use to go out there a lot. Now that I'm in Maryland I'm out there at least once a month.

The nightlife is cool but a couple of those bars downtown act funny if your're black.

Do you like being in the city or kind of on the outskirts? Because you can live right out side the city in Chesterfield or Glen Allen or something and be good...

As far as yambs you got VCU and a couple other schools out there depending on your age

Me and my girl are contemplating moving back down to VA and we considering the Richmond area...the cost of living is way better compared to MD...

What is Chesterfield like? I have a friend who lives there and he's been trying to get me to move there. I would prefer to live close to somewhere that there is stuff going on. Such as good restaurants, etc.

Gotcha, I live near Bristol just north of it anyways. Roanoke is a nice place, got a few buddys that live there and we visit them to go down town and golf lol.
Yea I didn't like Roanoke. Mad boring and racist. Downtown Roanoke is ok, only thing Roanoke got going.

For real for real anywhere outside of NoVa and Hampton Roads is boring and a little racist. Even those spots have their moments.

Roanoke is ehhh

I lived in Danville for a hot min. Was ok tbh.
All I see is Confederate flags, tea party, Hillary for prison, blue lives matter , and trump bumper stickers in Roanoke.

Yeah I went to a wedding out in Roanoke (or was it lynchburg? can't remember) once and that described it to a tee, but the folks were still nice though. But randomly out of nowhere at our motel there was this bumpin *** hood halloween party with fat booties everywhere.

:smh:

I guess cuz the ville is like 50% (or maybe more now) black its not as bad, but it does have its "pockets".

But ya i was usually down in Greensboro most weekends anyways. Loved that city, would move there in a heartbeat. Even Raleigh

People who say RVA whack ain't ever spent more than a minute in the dam city. Richmond is dope.

Haven't been to the clubs in the area in a while, but they were alright. It's a shame Off The Hookah shut down.

I don't know what kind of things you like to do, but Richmond is a city with a lot of character. People out there are more friendly than the ones in NOVA. NOVA is just a bunch of yuppies who only talk about jobs and making money. NOVA is a great place to live though, especially if you're in IT. It just doesn't have the charm that RVA has, but there's a lot to do in either areas.

Also, Richmond has a lot of bomb *** food spots

damn they shut down off the hookah? what happened?
that was the spot, cept they'd play you with the shoes (dress code) sometimes.

Didnt wanna be a damn tour guide
Been here my whole life. Looking to relocate in the next few years because I just want to see something different

Lots a great lil bars and food spots in the VCU,shockoe, short pump, carytown & nearby, areas
Nothing good for out of towners in Northside and the parts of Southside closest to the city. Southside is jugg city (where I live now). Coincidently thats where @yvespo3 "lost"his jewelry a few years ago.
Northside/ Highland Park is depressing (where I grew up).
Short Pump is about a 20 drive from downtown - good place to take ya lady friend if you have one. Good movie theater, comedy club, outside mall, and a ton of unique food places. Expensive to live out there
Chesterfield is a little past Southside and is full of cops waiting to pull you over but I think thats the best spot to raise a family
Never really hung with the vcu crowd but its always something going on down there.

Dont really do the club thing anymore except for a lounge or two every now & then.

 Makes me sick.

Does anyone live in the Richmond VA area? If so what is there to do there ? What is it like? Yambs nightlife etc. I got offered a job there but not sure if I want to move out there.
Got alotta fam and spend time in Richmond...other than a some bars and restuarants the nighlife sucks, strip clubs are atrocious ...the chicks are ok and get freaky pretty easily, good cost of living and decent place to live if you dont mind being bored alot of the time ... when school is in you can probly find something poppin round VCU or drive out to VSU in Petersburg...the plus side is you can drive to other cities in a couple hours for the weekend if you want (DC, Raleigh/Durham/ Baltimore etc.)

Outside of partying with my boys who were at VCU I would never go down there. Definitely wouldn't live there. College scene was lit tho.

Hell yeah strip clubs suck in rva. I went one time and they tried to make me put a shirt on that said i was under 21. And it was white. The ****? Threw it around my neck and sat down and some boney black chick in a loose *** bikini straight up asked my homie to buy her a corona. I ignored the ***** and she sat down next to my boy. We bounced right away. Worse 20$ of my life.
