Millennials have a decreasing sense of commitment to their employer/organization

Baby boomers took all the money tho

Well - not all of them.

They mad at us cause we have access to so much information. We are smarter but don't really have the work ethic .

But yeah we are not just gonna follow suit and 'accept things' like they did in their day.

Loyalty isn't and can never be paid for in dollars. People are loyal to those that sacrificed for them. At work, unless you run the company or make key decisions, you're expendable and even then, you're expendable if your decisions aren't turning profits. That's not loyalty from the company, so why would anyone with sense be loyal?

I work for one of those big machines man.

And I agree 100%. You gotta do your thing at work but you also gotta understand what you are dealing with and what life really is.

The sooner you realize you are nothing but a social security number the sooner you will be successful. I see a lot of these companies now, especially in tech pitching beer Fridays, casual dress code, etc to lure young talent in but you best believe that if it comes down to YOU or THEM it will be YOU every, single time.

Put your head down, grind, work hard and you will reap the rewards - which usually means better opportunities with other companies.

This. The bolded part applies to so many different things too.

A wise man once said "People are only as loyal as their options." That may not be entirely true but I've seen this mindset and behavior many times over.

I recently attended a conference that had a presentation on this and the presenter showed photos of like 5 different magazines (Time, Newsweek, etc) staggered back since 1950 saying the new generation is bad. It was kind of funny actually. We'll be saying the same thing in 20 years ourselves.

I do think this current generation of kids is really going to be the interesting one to follow as their entire being has been trophies, ADD, distractions, instant interactions and displaying their entire lives hour for hour on the web.

Dunno why some got in their feelings as soon as they saw the word millennials, it's not even a negative article. It's a positive that the younger generation have woken up to the ******** of corporations and took their career into their own hands. The most disloyal management I've had is the one that talked about it the most, it doesn't mean ****.

I mean... We did see our parents go through the greatest recession since the great depression.

When I noticed how quick they were to fire people who dedicated their lives to the company, I knew I had to be team me.

Real talk.

I've seen my parents go through some ****.
I don't think either of them have had more than a 2% or 3% raise in the last decade. All that does is keep up with inflation.

I think a big part of it is younger people are learning to not define themselves by their 9 to 5. The older generation did that **** and it bit that in them in the ***...We just took notes
