RIP to the legend Prodigy. The Infamous album got me into rap music and I play it to this day. Prodigy gave us some dope bars & flows that were one of a kind. I always respected his unique style. He died so young. Damn :smh:

I'm a Queens native so it goes without saying how important Mobb Deep was to us. In 1998, as a kid, I visited Loud Records HQ in Manhattan and had the chance to meet Prodigy. I was star struck. I remember asking him if it was true that he also lived in Lefrak City and he told me that it was true. He signed an autograph for me on a huge sheet of paper that I still have.

I've seen Prodigy live twice. First time in Prospect Park BK. He was booed I hate to say it. But the second time was in Gramercy Theatre and he killed it. Alchemist on the 1's and 2's, Illa Ghee, Twin Gambino in the building. It was a triumphant night for P and I'm glad I got to witness that after the disastrous Prospect Park outing.

I recorded this video at the Gramercy show (there are more clips under my Tone Riggz YT channel) :

RIP

P made me give up red meat like 15 years ago when I was reading an article in The Source or XXL about rappers on vegetarian diets.

Always thought he was better than Nas. Beyond the cleverness, you could hear a lot pain and frustration come through in his rhymes.

Damn, man.

Keep it Thoro is a Top 3 rap song to me. Period.

**** hurts.
"I throw a tv at u crazy..******* say P u crazy/a pain in da *** nah but **** u pay me" :pimp:

I use to think that line was so ill in high school. I was telling everyone I would throw tvs at them

Random, slightly relevant Prodigy related memory- The time I saw Prodigy at Prospect Park, there was a dude from Bed Stuy there who was talking to me about P's Infamous Life book and how good it was. He told me he could sell me a copy after the show but all his copies were in Bed Stuy. To borrow from Paul Mooney, "I may have been born yesterday but I stood up all night". I ordered it on Amazon. Interesting book although not one that Capone-N-Noreaga were fond of and with good reason.
