R.I.P. Prodigy from Mobb Deep

Am I tripping or was there a pic with Prodigy with coke on the table in this album art?

I swear I remember that from 1997 and I was tripping like this dude is nuts.

This pic is ****** dope. Hell on earth is grimy as hell, dope album.

"Pina Colada champales mixed with Dainy
Thats St. Ides in dunn lingo
Spillin it on the floor for our dead people
While I spark the sequel ****, my ****** got lungs
When we smoke, that **** only go around once"

This and Can't Complain are probably my most played songs from there. Back in my wanting to be a rapper phase a had a ton of Mobb Deep/ALC beats I was writing to

Meth was always more style than substance to me. I can't ever remember a rhyme of his that had me stuck or rewinding. I thought his track on 36 Chambers was corny even when the album came out.

Ghost, Rae, GZA and even Deck at times are better

I take that back, there was ONE Method Man verse that stuck... "sign of the times, conspiracy to overthrow the mind, behind every fortune there's a crime, this technique is tech nine, blast at any close encounters of the third kind..."

Outside of that? Nope. Took me a while to like the Mary duet too. I thought that was corny at first too.

I'm still in denial. P and Hav were some of the only rap cats that did a show in my city, hung around afterwards and hit up the hood without any kind of security. As cordial as they come.

Inspectah Deck is incredible. The majority of other Wu members get all the shine because of their character/personality, but spittin'??? Lyrics??? Bars??? Deck is one of the best if not THE nicest of the Clan.
:smokin

ive been in denial a lot but recently i had to swallow the pill that all of Deck's verses on GZA's Liquid Swords album are the best verses on the project, and highly contribute to the reason as to why it's (to me) 1 of the best albums ever... and that's hard to accept considering I put Rakim & GZA above everybody

Yeah, Deck's verse made this song honestly. His verse is like watching two seasons of The Wire.

one of da worst tragedies is RZA's basement getting flooded and losing da OG production, delaying da release date over a year and 1/2..Inspectah Deck was posed to drop right after GZA or Raekwon...that first wave of wu releases on those classic RZA beats.

Just bumped all my Mobb Deep albums these past few days and Pearly Gates played tonight. Forgot about his first line in that song. Pretty wild.

Since HNIC, I always looked forward for a P x ALC collab. They are always fire :pimp:
