NOTRE DAME FOOTBALL THREAD...ALL THE WAY UP TO GAME 1

it's gonna be a long friggin season.

4, maybe 5 wins?
don't get me wrong. I will support Notre Dame as long as I live. It's the first team I remember cheering for along with the Dodgers.
It's not a Saturday in fall without watching Notre Dame on NBC, IMO.

That'll never happen

If Syracuse does win, you have to wear 'Cuse apparel when they play Georgetown this year.

. maybe I'm just still reeling from last year, but I don'tsee us beating any of those teams. I know it won't happen

, but maybe SD State, Stanford and Navy? I dunno....

Even the best teams on their schedule (outside of USC and perhaps Purdue) have serious questions going into this season though. I'm not trying to say NDwill be great, but at the very least most of those other games are toss ups.

SDS-probably a win
Michigan - lost ALOT from last season on offense, and I have no clue how Rich Rods offense is gonna go this season. A toss up I think. Mich will struggle thisyear.
Mich St. - They always choke against ND. Could definitely go either way.
Purdue - Loss
Standford - May be a close game, but I would lean towards ND
UNC - Toss up, both teams have alot of young talent but haven't been able to put it together on the field. 50/50.
Wash. - Could go either way, I would lean slightly towards Wash, but wouldn't be shocked if ND won.
Pitt - If they can find a QB who is decent, they should win. Even if they don't have a qb by then, they will be favored over ND.
B.C. - This will be an interesting game. BC is gonna be in transition this year at all the key positions. Lost key playmakers on offense and defense. Could goeither way, I have a feeling ND might win though.
Navy - Chances are ND will win, Navy losing Johnson as their coach will hurt. Before last season, ND dominated this series, I expect the domination to beginagain.
Syracuse - Who knows, 2 underachieving teams, but 'cuse has been awful. I'd favor ND.
USC - LOSS

So I would conservatively say ND will win 6-7 games this year.

"Can I hear more about your jerseys and facilities? Always so intriguing year after year when the success doesn't come. " Oh yeah you know thenational media has got a hold of the pacific northwest's @#!*$!+

You hear about our jerseys and facilities on niketalk, outside of a couple spots on SCwhen we were #3 in the country no one's jockin Oregon. We get pub only when we PRODUCE. We beat USC. Notre Dame doesn't. Notre Dame doesn't beatanyone. They get close to beating teams like USC and then proclaim themselves once again kings of the college football throne. What a bunch of frauds. Over thelast 20 years Oregon's only 2nd to USC in Pac-10 win-loss percentage, I think the program has a leg to stand on at this point, and I'm gonna continueto trash the sorry program that resides in South Bend because ND continues to eff over more deserving teams when it comes to bigger bowl games year, afteryear, after year, after year, and it'll continue to happen so long as people accept it.

Wow. Way to bring Oregon into this discussion. Very relevant.

Oregon was brought up on Pg. 1

People love takin shots instead of giving an honest assessment

What do you want them to do, say no??

That has nothing to do with the football TEAM...

If you would like to discuss that, be my guest.

But I'm tired of the NBC, BCS Bowl, National Media crap.

Team with the most to prove this year...

obviously school and weis will take mad hype if its another losing season...and the discussion will go back to willingham.

I didnt like the way Golston played against Purdue. He kinda reverted back to trusting his legs more than his arm. Corey is a beast, need to find away to get him more throws.

Couldn't agree more he looked bad against Purdue and even shaky at times against Syracuse...kelly mentors him a lot on the sidelines throughout the past few games and it shows but other than that he's having a terrific season this far.

Stanford should be a great game tonight I'm pumped, I hear Stanford is the fav

If we win out, we're in. Something about USC that always gets me nervous. They can be 0-10 going into that game and wouldnt be surprised if they beat us.
