STEEL CITY (Pittsburgh) NT'ers STAND UP!!!

Its all I do when Im bored at home and no ones around haha. I need a better/cheaper hobby than shoes and cars.

The only shoe I like this year is the KD and it doesnt fit great for me. Plus I dont love it like I did the Bron XI. The Bron XII and Kobe IX are no goes. At least it will drop my spending. Still waiting on sunlight to drop the Encore 2.5 WOW, but I'm definitely never buying another WOW to resale again after the pink ASG debacle. Going to have to end up wearing that ugly thing.

Don't wear em if you don't like em. Just hold on to em till people are desperate for em again. Beginning of next season or next all star weekend.

I'm glad I don't like the LeBron XII either, but I do like the Kobe (low only) just copped the Michael Jackson pair, haven't taken em out the box tho, daughter has kept me very busy and haven't taken pictures of anything since we moved in the new house. Still gotta find a good picture corner in that house

Question of the day. Acid lows at a 15% disco or risk trying to get the red elites at a 15% and missing out on both. Can only grab 1 and like both equally

Unless someone here buys my Bred xiii and wow 2 asg pinks 500 for both. Steals

So I'm sitting here "working from home", and as I look at my sale listings I'm thinking is the bubble starting to burst? I mean you have a Lebron Elite, which would have been a champ shoe for 50 retail over basically. I had to beg and get help for someone to buy my pink wade all stars. I cant get anyone to take my new yeezy foams for retail. Kings crowns can be picked up for close to retail. The last couple J releases have sat (I know they're 14s but even the 3s have been sitting too). IDK maybe it's just the dog days of summer, but maybe Nike retail pricing is starting to price out the resellers.

Anyways, Tanger had the cigar Vi shirt and a nice XI shirt when I was out there yesterday, other than those there was a whole lot of NADA. My acid xis should be here today and the elite tomorrow

Yeah it's been real real slow lately, it'll pick back up. Gotta be patient. I got an 8.5 I gotta move in those SEs

Im going to end up keeping mine, at least for a little, I basically swapped those wades for those

I may be done selling. These kids are insane. I just sat and bargained with this dude for an entire day to get retail for my foams. I finally gave into his 265 shipped price, where I'm losing money for an unworn shoe, and then he says to me let me sit and marinate for a sec. wtf? I agreed to your fn price and now you have to think about it. Im too old for this **** haha

I dont think the bubble has burst but no doubt the hype has dropped back to reality. Alot of people have some inflated sense of value. All the good shoes prices pushed the basic shoes prices then in turn the hype built which pushed it further. Im not a reseller nor a shoe collector but have been a general collector for years and know the business. I wouldnt pay inflated prices for run of the mill stuff. The resale business of shoes these days is running on hype and that lasts about as long as a helium balloon. Being more the collector type, i invest for value so basically at the end of the day, the bubble may burst and what i have may lose some value but ill always break better than even. It is why even though my original childhood favorites are royal 1s, i added 4 additional pairs to my personal. Making a secondary market business out of general release is no good. Most of the resale business now is just a product of hoarding and i dont like it. I would pay resale for a shoe thats desirable and tough to get which gives it value but not when its manufactured by scooping mass quantities to choke the market..

I usually only grab stuff I like too, but there's a lot of times I'll grab two to try and lower my cost by selling one. I can't really think of anything besides the cigars that have been a huge hit on the resell market since April/May. There's always the absurdly limited stuff that will sell, but even with the 2k lebrons they're at about 600 now. Sure they're ugly as sin, but I would expect a couple 1000 people to want them in the world and the prices to have been a lot higher. Hell even XI lows are sitting at 200, that never ever would have happened the past couple years with the concord and infrared releases that came out this year. I mean those pink wades were at 375+ all day long. I couldnt dump them at the 300 retail. Ended up losing a couple bucks on them and felt lucky to do so.

Part of the reason I think the bubble is starting to pop a little is, Nike starting to saturating the market with too many releases. There shouldn't be a retro release every week. I have a pretty good job and I couldnt even keep up if I wanted to. The sad thing is reading through much of these threads I see people going broke buying these things. In the lebron thread alone there was 1 or 2 guys who said I won the raffle but Im maxed out cant buy. Not I reached my budget for the month, but I literally have no credit left or money in the bank. WTF are these kids doing?

I guess in reality it's a good concept. Limit how many pairs are released, so that when people miss they'll hopefully move on to the thunder/sport blue 14, and people do it. Hell even I've been guilty of it. Maybe the hoarding that you mentioned will stop, at least with these GRs now that there's less and less margin in it.

Eventually Nike has to run out of stuff to retro. I mean what are they going to do in 2 years when it's the VIIIs anniversary. They already released the bunnies and the playoffs. Do them again remastered? I mean I love VIIIs, and if the playoffs have an OG red pull tab I'll be an idiot and buy 2 or 3 more pairs, but most people wont.

Sorry for the rambling. Its early and the 2 year old refuses to sleep anymore. Its like a sits at the door all night waiting to give me the middle finger at 4 am ha-ha

Without a doubt it's slowed down. As we all know I buy and sell for profit with many pairs. I've done good over the last couple years. But all the sudden as my daughter was born it came to a standstill. At first I thought it was just cuz I was overly busy, but no it's the market. I'm glad the quality releases slowed down for a while and I don't need to do tons of leg work for days to grab stuff, but I am looking forward to getting rid of the pairs I am sitting on.
As for my personal collection I'm pretty much over Jordan brand. I own less than ten pairs of Jordan's, meanwhile I probably own 15+ LeBron's and about the same of Fila's. I've moved on and I'm looking forward to more quality releases by Li-Ning. I'm convinced I'm even over LeBron's since his punk *** left Miami. Just bought my first Kobe and I'm sure eventually will buy my first KD.

No doubt and i do the same. My problem always stemmed from the crazy networks posting carload pickups and the like. Around here we do ok. Runnin around finding extras, you know its fair game. I rolled into Villas during that after holiday sale and walked out with 8+ pair of +cw og 1s for the price of 1 at retail. Now people are adding to cart on eastbay before the timer ends. Thats really discourging. I think within a year it will all have peaked and will no doubt go down. Young kids lookin at this as a business and opening these stores and sites are gonna be stuck someday soon like the dotcom days. I already see some self run and cartel type sites drying up. The rise of gm pairs dont help either. Seems like i remember it starting with the concords and then picking up serious momentum in 2013. I cant complain cause my fav models were done proper. Young kids actually flocking for og 1s and 88 3s. Sad though when all that makes a V or VI sell out and show up on ebay at stupid prices.

All good points. I see my tastes changing as well - I've sold (and will continue to sell) a lot of stuff in my collection that I'm just not getting any use out of. Do I like them? Sure, but I'm forcing myself to ask myself that question: "Am I ever going to wear these?" And even if I have worn them a few times, is it something I have to go out of my way to wear? That's made it a lot easier to part ways with almost 20 pairs over the past two months. Granted, I'm still buying, but the kicks I've been buying are mostly runners, and are a lot more "wearable" if that makes any sense (not to mention more comfortable).

It also helps that I haven't been remotely interested in any of Nike and JBs releases this summer - they've all been trash to me.

Im on my feet all day so for the days i dont feel like wearin a Jordan i have a pair of monarchs lol. That decision sortve bothers me lol.

Ive always been lucky that my favorite jordan was the VIII. It's not that appealing to the masses so I dont usually ever have to scramble for it. The other stuff I buy is limited crap, which I probably wont ever wear, but like to have and hope to soon be able to display if I can ever get a new house locked down.

I know its few and far between, but after having kids I really started to think the worse case. I'm not getting hurt for a pair of wtkd's, 2k14s, ect. It's part of the reason I don't like doing in person meet ups for sales and mostly go to ebay. So maybe it's just wishful thinking that its dying, but i think there are some signs there

Sept 12 may have just taken me out of the what the lebron. Will be finally closing on a new house it looks like!!

Thanks man the sellers are making it real hard to enjoy this process but they're finally supposed to be signing the contract today after another scare late last night
