this dude doesn't do his job as well as he should, i'm not the type to tell the manager, but i'm the type to set a cat straight, should i just tell him he should focus more and quit wasting time on random stuff or just let him get himself fired.

gosh i hate lazy folks especially when its about $

dude IS JUST LAZY

I'm on the same boat as you with my coworker. This dude is about 40 tho and acts like an immature little prick and is constantly hiding for others to do the job. I don't have the "authority" to tell him anything, but this dude is on a string of getting fired.

I don't like complaining or saying anything, so I simply don't tell the supervisor anything, but showing his performance compared to your own work should catch the manager's eye. Just let his work show it, don't be a snitch.

"his performance compared to your own work should catch the manager's eye. Just let his work show it"<---This,but things don't always work out like that though.

"Hey, man. I'm not the type to tell someone how to do their job or anything like that, but if you don't stop wasting time and start doing better work then you might get fired. I've seen it happen before. That's all I'm trying to tell you."

Contact Mgr. nothing done contact HR, nothing done, punch the guy in the temple.

Had a co worker like this, worst part he was actually a cool guy besides his horrible work ethic. After awhile I got on him for never doing $#% but somehow I always felt like the douche for doing that. Needless to say, it took 2 years before this guy was fired.

if it effects your work or you yourself, then yeah you have to say something

if it just bothers you to see slackers while your working hard you just have to distance yourself and let it go

Im on the same boat, i just dont work as hard when i work with him, and jusy ignore him all shift..
good thing our work doesnt consist of me and him actually communicatig.

im (lazy) that dude.. ppl always wanna throw me under the bus for this and that..
i get my work done so i never get any flack from upper management

I wouldn't say anything UNLESS it effects you...if that't the case confront him and if he doesn't change tell the manager

Yeah, let it be, unless it's affecting your own workload.

I had a co-worker who would constantly take breaks, take a 1-2 hour long lunches, and as a result, I would have to do more work.

unless he's an MMA fighter or trained boxer....do what you feel...

just know their will be repercussions.

you're becoming one of my favorite NT'ers

Anyways Im all about work smarter not harder

I get my job done but you can catch me chillin half the time at work, my managers love me and don't say anything so why change anything

I find that unless you're prepared to go the distance with it, telling him anything might back fire. If you won't go see the manager and you have no authority over him, he may become even lazier just to shine you on. I like that despite working in a pretty big office, I'm a pretty self-autonomous unit. I get my daily work at about 930 and as long as I keep in touch with my attorneys and their staff nobody bothers me about how I go about doing my job.

- i used to supervise a FEW clowns that stayed trying to tell on people that werent working as hard as the rest of us. ill tell you the same thing i tried to tell them.........."do YOU. if you come in day after day and do what YOU'RE supposed to, the higher ups will be able to tell the difference. if they cant, you dont need to work there anyway."

...sadly they didnt listen. one got fired, and the other was so concerned with what others were doing he almost got escorted off the property for inappropriate language due to him being upset about someone else work ethic.

im so gald i dont have to supervise those idiots anymore
