Fixing Presto uppers?

Hi.

I have a pair of Acronym Presto and and the foremost thread loops on the inner side are eating slowly through the upper of the shoe. They are loose from the upper, move some when walking and have quite sharp edges. I bought these at retail with intended heavy wear and that's what I'd like to get out of them. So no resale value or anything need be considered.

I was wondering how to fix them. A drop of epoxy or superglue maybe to take the abrasion? Or would rubber glue work better? Or maybe use superglue or epoxy to fix the thread loop to the upper?

Ideally the glue would need to be clear when it hardens and not get opaque/white over time.

Any ideas?
