NYS LLC law? VOL. Publication LAW BS

I'm working as a consultant and was recently told to register a company to take less damages on tax at year end.  I registered and got hit with a publication laws requirement which requires daily publication and weekly for 6 weeks on TWO papers.  It's going to come out to 2k..
Any other entrepeanuers know about this or how I can evade it?  I'm not a real business, just consulting services..
